Go To

Hands of Creation is a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon fanfiction by Namohysip that follows a Charmander named Owen who has been lied to his whole life, as he discovers who and what he is and comes to terms with his past. Along the way meets new friends who seem oddly familiar, becomes a Grass-type, and becomes tied up in a struggle that has been going on behind the scenes for centuries. Features a large but memorable cast of characters each with their own personalities and quirks. Can be read here or here.

This fanfiction provides examples of:

  • Aerith and Bob: Characters with names like Owen, Alex, and James exist alongside Anam, Gahi, and Amia.
  • All Just a Dream: Subverted; Owen's "dream" at the start of chapter 1 actually happened.
  • All Your Powers Combined: The purpose of the Alloy is combine Owen's Perception and tactical abilities, Gahi's speed, Dimitri's raw power, and Mispy's healing abilities into one entity.
  • Artificial Pokemon: The mutant Pokemon encountered near the beginning of the story, as well as Team Alloy and their replacements.
  • Creating Life: The mutants are created by Eon and the other Hunters, and are even shown to have been born and incubated within glass tubes at the bottom of Quartz HQ.
  • Elemental Powers: A given since this is a Pokemon story, but taken even further with the Guardians and their spirits, which can have unusual typing.
  • Fiery Stoic: Amia, the Fire Guardian, is tender, caring, and overly apologetic. Much of this has rubbed off on her adoptive son, Owen. Completely averted when she encounters Eon.
  • Good Thing You Can Heal: Everyone on all sides would be in much more trouble if Orans and Reviver Seeds didn't restore almost all of their injuries.
    • Partly averted by Spice, who isn't strongly affected by their "blessed" properties.
  • Happily Adopted: At the start of the story, all of Team Alloy are happily under the care of either Amia and Alex or Rhys, despite not being related to any of them by blood.
  • Immortal Life Is Cheap: Because Reviver Seeds and Oran Berries have massive healing power, battles meant to be mere sparring matches can result in severe injuries.
  • Not Quite Dead: There's an actual chapter named this, when Owen first acquires the Grass Orb and His tail flame goes out, usually implying death.
  • Really 700 Years Old: Virtually the entire main cast consists of spirits, Guardians, and Hunters, all of which are immortal. The members of Team Alloy have been around for centuries.
  • Replacement Goldfish: Eon cares so deeply about Owen that he creates a replica of him in the form of Har.
