- Establishing Character Moment: Percy singing the "Kyle's Mom's a Bitch" song to taunt Alecto into attacking him so that he can kill her, showing off both his sense of humor and his tactical abilities.
- A Form You Are Comfortable With: All of the gods, but particular mention goes to Artemis, who begins to age her 'mortal' form after falling in love with Percy.
- Good Is Not Nice: Percy is undoubtedly the hero, but he also murders his stepfather as well as his friends, and Elsa points out that he acts like a fucked up assassin rather than a normal child when fighting.
- Humans Are the Real Monsters: Argo is arguably the most depraved villain in the story, and he's a normal human. To add to this, Kronos feeds off of human evil, which is in abundant supply.
- Humans Are Special: Humans can achieve Haki, something that apparently is almost beyond god-like in power.
- I Can Still Fight!: Thalia feels the need to prove herself after finding out just how much stronger than her Percy is.
- I Gave My Word: Percy starts using the Oath of the River Styx to prove he's telling the truth, much to people's annoyance.
- Kid Hero: Somewhat subverted with Percy. He's much more mentally mature than his age would indicate, and his Goblin perk has accelerated his puberty so that he appears in his late teens.
- "L" Is for "Dyslexia": Percy had dyslexia, but his Gamer power allowed him to overcome it, and his former difficulty with reading gives him a new appreciation for it.
