    Passion on Display
  • Aggressive Submissive: Bakugo ends up bottoming to Kirishima when they have Their First Time. The next day, Bakugo snaps at him, "Fucker, my ass hurts, did you have to go so hard?!"
  • Anti-Magic: In "Hitting the Showers", one of Kirishima's attackers has a Quirk similar to Aizawa's that lets him deactivate another person's Quirk, but it works through touch instead of eyesight.
  • Badass in Distress: In "Hitting the Showers", Kirishima is attacked by two homophobic students and rendered unable to defend himself by his Quirk being deactivated.
  • Berserker Tears: Bakugo doesn't realize that his eyes are watering after he beats up the students who assaulted Kirishima.
  • Berserk Button: Granted, Bakugo has no shortage of them, but Mineta presses one by asking insensitively about his sexual preferences.
Mineta: Well, after the sports festival, I discovered your tastes for the more extreme. You like it rough, don't you?
Bakugo: WHAT THE SHIT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT, YOU DAMN DIAPER BRAT?!
  • Blatant Lies: Apparently, Bakugo and Kirishima sharing a honeymoon suite in Two Heroes was no accident; Bakugo paid extra for it and told Kirishima it had been a mistake on the hotel's part.
  • Bullying a Dragon: Mineta decides to get Bakugo (who has an incredibly powerful explosion Quirk AND a legendary Hair-Trigger Temper) back for yelling at him by sending the entire class an embarrassing video of him under the influence of St. Valentine’s Quirk. He didn't think about what Bakugo would do to him after.
  • Call-Back: For his first date with Kirishima, Bakugo puts on the dress shirt and floral-print vest he wore to I-Island in My Hero Academia: Two Heroes.
  • Combat Pragmatist: While fighting the students who attacked Kirishima, Bakugo smashes one of them in the face with a duffel bag.
  • Content Warnings: "Hitting the Showers" has a content warning for violence before a scene that involves Kirishima being beaten up and called a "faggot" by two hero students.
  • Cover Innocent Eyes and Ears: In the restaurant, when Kirishima and Bakugo start making out for way longer than they need to (in order to prove a point to a rude manager), another restaurant patron covers his daughter's eyes.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Bakugo obliterates the two homophobic students who assaulted Kirishima in short order. They probably wouldn't have stood a snowball's chance against him in a fight anyway, but after they hurt his boyfriend in front of him? They just signed their death warrants.
  • Declaration of Protection: Bakugo to Kirishima, after saving him from being attacked by the homophobic students.
    Kirishima: You did that...for me?
Bakugo: Tch. Of course, dumbass. And if anyone else touches you, I'll make sure there won't be anything left of them.
  • Dirty Coward: Mineta screams and runs in terror when Bakugo is about to kill him for sending the entire class a private video with him in it.
  • Does This Remind You of Anything?: St. Valentine’s Quirk increases feelings of love, lust and sexual desire, but also causes the victim to forget what they did under the influence, comparable to the effects of alcohol or drugs.
  • Dream Intro: The first chapter begins with Kirishima having a dream about being at a ball while dancing with Bakugo, and they’re about to kiss just before he wakes up.
  • Emotional Powers: St. Valentine's Quirk affects the limbic system of the brain, awakening feelings of love, lust and sexual desire.
  • Formally-Named Pet: Aizawa owns a tuxedo cat named Mr. Snuggles.
  • Girls Love Chocolate: When the Bakusquad goes to a carnival, Mina is very happy about winning a box of chocolate Pocky sticks as a prize.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: The student with the belt-creating Quirk is angry that Sero, who has a similar Quirk, got into the hero course and he didn't. Part of his motive for attacking Kirishima is hoping that he'll be able to take his place in Class 1-A if the other boy suffers an "accident".
  • Hormone-Addled Teenager: Aizawa has concerns about St. Valentine using his love-inducing Quirk on the students during the training exercise. He’s proven right when Midoriya tries to kiss Ochako and Bakugo kisses Kirishima.
  • In Love with Your Carnage: Downplayed — Kirishima watches a furious Bakugo chasing after Mineta while making explosions behind him and thinks dreamily, “He’s so manly when he’s angry…”
  • In-Series Nickname:
    • Bakugo calls Kirishima "Weird Hair" and Kaminari "Pikachu".
    • Kirishima calls Bakugo "Bakubro".
  • I'll Kill You!: Bakugo's reaction after Mineta sent a video of him moaning Kirishima's name to the entire class.
Kirishima: Bakugo, maybe you should calm down a bit? He said he was sorry.
Bakugo: HAH? AFTER THE SHIT HE PULLED? I'M GOING TO SLICE HIM UP AND DEEP FRY HIM PIECE BY PIECE!
  • Kick the Dog: Mineta records Bakugou moaning Kirishima's name while under the influence of St. Valentine's Quirk and sends it to the entire class.
  • Malicious Misnaming: About two seconds after meeting him, Bakugo starts referring to St. Valentine as "Shitty Cupid".
  • Motor Mouth: To the surprise of absolutely nobody, Midoriya goes into full-on fanboy mode when the class is training with Pro Heroes from another country.

  • Reverse Psychology: When Bakugo wants to study for an English test instead of going on a date with Kirishima, the red-haired boy slyly says that he’ll have to take someone else in order to get the couple’s discount. Bakugo’s immediate response is, "You will not. I'm taking you, hair-for-brains."
