- Blatant Lies: Lance whenever he sends out emails out to his mother that he is satisfied and still in the Garrison, knowing full well he has been expelled and had been for quite some time.
- Fall Guy: Lance took Keith's place by claiming responsibility for Keith's actions which was breaking into Iverson's office, which led to his expulsion.
- Go Mad from the Isolation: Played for Laughs with Lance and him talking to the geckos in the dessert and even naming them.
- In Spite of a Nail: Lance still finds the Blue Lion. In fact because he got kicked out, he found the Blue Lion earlier, which leads to their close bond with each other.
- Role Swap AU: Lance and Keith switch places, with Lance getting expelled.
- Shout-Out: Wilbur and Orville, the names of Lance's Geckos are named after the Wright Brothers.
