In Noctua Dominarum Potestas
, Eda the Owl Lady inadvertently discovers that her portal can access more than just Earth when she ends up on Etheria and rescues the infant Adora and Catra. Unable to find anyone trustworthy able and willing to take them in, Eda ends up raising them herself.

This fanfic provides examples of:
- Adaptational Early Appearance: In canon, the Potion Coven Head Vitimir didn't appear until the middle of season 2. Here, he appears in the equivalent of the first episode.
- Color-Coded Wizardry: Eda's fight with Hordak over Adora has her explicitly using magic from different Covens, with the Coven in question corresponding to the color of the spell circle she uses when casting it.
- Deadpan Snarker: The second chapter shows that Catra is quite snarky as a teen.
- Disappeared Dad: While Catra's biological mother is definitely dead, as Owlbert found her under said mother's body, her father is nowhere to be found.
- Everyone Has Standards: Eda may be an unrepentant criminal who steals human trash and sells it as treasure to support herself, but when finds herself on a battlefield littered with bodies, she refuses to loot from them because it feels wrong and she's not nearly desperate enough.
- Hoist by His Own Petard: Luz grabs one of Vitimir's own potions and hits him with it, causing him to swell up like a balloon for an hour.
- Promoted to Parent: Eda finds the baby Catra under her mother's body, and then rescues baby Adora from Hordak right after he canonically found her himself. Unable to find someone on Etheria outside of the Horde who is willing and able to take them, she's ultimately forced to raise them herself.
- Take That!: According to Catra, even Belos can't stand Anarcho-Capitalists.
- Time Skip: The end of the first chapter skips forward a few years, to the point where Catra and Adora are now walking and talking.
- Worf Had the Flu: Played for Laughs, but after rescuing Adora from Hordak, Eda notes that he was hindered in their fight because he had to hold onto said baby... before saying that she was holding onto Catra as well.
