Next Level: Nights After Dreams is a Yuri!!! on Ice fanfic written by Rip Van Gabriel,it can be found here on fanfiction.net and here on Archive Of Our Own. Picking up after the Grand Prix Final but before Yuri goes to Russia with Victor, the fic continues past the end of Season 1 and focuses on Victor and Yuri as they prepare for the next skating season while navigating life as a couple and dealing with Victor's Dark and Troubled Past.

Though mainly canon compliant, the series disregards lead writer Mitsurou Kubo's confirmation that homophobia doesn't exist in the series to provide a dramatic and realistic take on how some people would react to Yuri and Victor's marriage in real life, and for the sake of Victor's backstory.

Despite the name, it is not related to Ni GHTS Into Dreams - However, one of Yurio's EX Gala performances is a reference to the game, since his costume choice is analogous to NiGHTs character 'Raela.'

Tropes include:

• Abuse Mistake: Played for laughs in Chapter 233. Phichit thinks that Victor might be abusing Yuri after seeing scratch marks on Yuri's back while the couple are sitting in the onsen. Yuri blushes furiously from embarrassment as he explains that their relationship is perfectly healthy and consensual, sex just got a little rough one night when they were drunk back in Chapter 220.
• Abusive Parents: Konstantin Nikiforov, of both the physical and emotional variety.
• Adaptational Angst Upgrade: The fic gives Victor a heartbreakingly tragic backstory, but it is all based on verbal or behavioral cues portrayed in the series.
• Alcohol-Induced Idiocy: Once again, Victor strips naked while drunk in Chapter 153.
  • And that's not even going into what Yuri and Victor get up to in Chapter 220.
• Altar the Speed: Victor and Yuri elope in Barcelona due to their busy skating schedules.
• Archnemesis Dad: Konstantin Nikiforov. At least until he and Victor begin to reconcile at the end of NHK.
• Arson, Murder, and Lifesaving: After spending a large chunk of Chapter 274 ripping everyone a new one for the stress they're putting him under, Victor turns to Yuri... tells him to ignore what everyone is saying about his skating because Victor is the only one he's skating to seduce.
• Ascended Extra: The girl who tried to hug Yuri back in Detroit, as mentioned early in the show. The fic gives her a name, a backstory, and she shows up at the GPF as a medic.
• The Atoner: Victor's uncle Mikhail does everything he can to make up for leaving when Victor was young.
• Beta Couple: Minako and Mikhail.
• Big, Screwed-Up Family: The Nikiforovs and Rosovskys have a lot of issues.
• Break the Haughty: JJ's It's All About Me attitude leads to him colliding with Yuri on the ice during practice the day before the Grand Prix Final and injuring his ankle, forcing him to withdraw from the competition.
• Breather Episode: Despite the tasteful explicitness of the scenes (the author goes out of her way to portray love-making, not f**king,) surprisingly, any chapter where Yuri and Victor have sex usually ends up serving as one of these because it gives readers a break from the drama.
• Brick Joke:
  • After Worlds, Victor tells Yuri that one day they should have sex at a competition. He finally makes good on that in Chapter 211.
  • After their painfully rough, drunken makeup sex in Chapter 221, Yuri comments that Victor owes his backside an apology for the pain, and Victor promises to make it up to Yuri. 10 chapters later, cue the appology bouquet.
  • Yurio's comment at the RSF press conference early in the story about how much more homoerotic wrestling is compared to figure skating comes back more than 220 chapter later when Mikhail reveals that his son Sergio participates in the sport.
  Victor: "A joke almost a year in the making."
• Burn Baby Burn: Victor burns the letter from his mother, along with the photos and the envelope they came in.
• Calling Parents by Their Name: Victor refuses to refer to his father as anything other than Konstantin out of resentment for the way the man treated him during his childhood. At least until they start to reconcile at NHK in Chapter 215. In a lesser but similar way, he also refers to Mikhail as simply "Uncle" when their relationship is strained.
• Calling the Old Man Out: Victor gets three opportunities against his father, verbally in Chapters 69 and 201, and then non-verbally in Chapter 210 with his NHK Free Skate.
  • And then Yuri does it himself in Chapter 215. Really, the entire NHK arc is full of people calling out Konstantin for his behavior towards Victor.
• Can't Hold His Liquor: Just like in the show, Yuri tends to lose his inhibitions while drunk, and Victor isn't much better.
• Cerebus Roller Coaster: The series regularly trades off between the optimism of the series and the drama of Victor's family.
• Chekhov's Lecture: Yurio calls grappling style wresting the gayest sport ever since it involves two nearly naked men groping and practically fellating each other. Guess what sport Mikhail's somewhat homophobic son Sergio is part of.
• Continuation Fic: Picks up where the first season ended.
• Contrived Coincidence: Lampshaded and played partly for laughs. While Victor and Mkihail are discussing the death of the latter's ex-wife, Victor notes that Mikhail's ex-wife divorced him around the same time that Sophia broke up with Victor. Victor half-jokingly remarks that he should probably call his ex and make sure she's still alive.
  • Celeste, the girl Yuri mentioned in Episode 4 of the show who tried to hug him, shows up as an EMT at the Grand Prix Final in Detroit.
• Cool Old Guy: Mikhail and the Shinto priest that officiates Yuri and Victor's second wedding ceremony.
  • Nikolai Plisetsly in a low key way. While Yuri's and Victor's relationship makes him unconfortable, he does not insult, belittle or harass them in any way. Neither does he try to sabotage their relationships with Yurio.
• Cool Uncle: Mikhail was one for Victor before he left.
• Crazy Jealous Guy: Played for laughs twice in Chapter 224, Victor has this reaciton first when Yuri tells Victor he thinks one of their fans managed to kiss him while they were distracted by the media mob at the airport, then Yuri gets a turn when Victor jokes about calling his ex-girlfriend.^note  Victor and Mikhail were discussing the fact that Mikhail's ex-wife divorced him around the same time that Victor and Sophia broke up, and since Mikhail had just learned that his ex-wife had recently died from another round of cancer, Victor joked about the coincidence of the timing by commenting that he should make sure Sophia was still alive.
• Crippling the Competition: An accidental version occurs in Chapters 245/246. When JJ and Yuri collide on the ice at pre-GPF practice in Detroit, Yuri's skate severs JJ's achilles tendon in the collission, forcing the Canadian skater to withdraw from the event.
• Cut Himself Shaving: Victor tries to pass off the beating he recieved from his father at his mother's funeral as being the result of a car accident. Nobody at the rink is fooled, and after his uncle shows up at Worlds, internet conspiracy theorists start to get uncomfortably close to the truth.
• Dark and Troubled Past: While Yurio was implied to have on in canon, this fic gives Victor an absolutely nasty one.
  • For Victor, his father hated figure skating with a violent passion, to the point of trying to blind him in an effort to stop him from skating. This resulted in Victor becoming an emancipated minor at the age of 12 and moving in with Yakov until he was old enough to be financially independent. His father's fanatic hatred for skating led to Victor being estranged from all blood relatives for much of his life and gave him a whole host of issues that still haunt him during the fic.
• Dark Secret: While Victor treats his entire childhood as this, his first relationship with the female Ice Dancer in his senior debut turns out to a more specific example: His mother had sent him a postcard, and when he called to thank her, he heard his father ranting in the background about how Victor was no better than a male prostitute because of the skating. Victor went into his next competition so angry and determined to prove his father wrong that he deliberately seduced the ice dancer in between her practices, aware of the damage it would do to her performance when her partner found out, but driven by his wounded pride to prove he could live up to his father's views of manhood. The guilt of what he'd done hit him when he got on the plane back to Russia, and he swore to never do anything like that again. Yuri, having at this point heard the full story of how Victor's childhood shaped his personality, does not get mad at Victor over it.
• Didn't Think This Through: Mikhail has a tendency to make decisions related to Victor's life (like moving his kids to Hasetsu or the whole mess with Victor's father) without thinking to ask how Victor feels.
• Diegetic Soundtrack Usage: Victor uses the show's opening theme song History Makers as the music for his Short Program in his comeback season. He also skates to a Russian version of 'You Only Live Once' at Worlds.
• Disguised in Drag: Mikhail weaponized this frequently in his bullying of Konstantin.
• Distinction Without a Difference: Mikhail tells Victor in Chapter 173 that Konstantin doesn't hate Yuri, he just hates the fact his son is married to a guy.
  Victor: "I fail to see a distinction."
• Door Stopper: Thanks to the author's seemingly superhuman writing ability, the series has 210 chapters as of September 7th, 2017, with a word count of 708,373.
  • By December 9th, the fic is at 267 chapters.
  • By February 5th, 2018, the fic is at 293 chapters and a word count of over one million.
  • As of September 10th, 2018, the fic is over 400 chapters and a word count over 1.5 million. This list has not been processed since Ch 320 however, so nothing about the Japanese Nationals arc has been parsed for tropes.
• Drowning My Sorrows: Victor's night out drinking with Minako quickly turns into this in Chapter 153, and is a loose reference to the better parts of 'Yuri on Stage.'
• Emancipated Child: Victor was emancipated at the age of 12 when his father tried to blind him via No-Holds-Barred Beatdown in an attempt to keep him from skating.
• Face Fault: Victor does this at the end of Chapter 274 when he (after being under significant stress) realizes that he'd forgotten that it's the one-year anniversary of the day he and Yuri got engaged in Barcelona.
• Fantasy-Forbidding Father: Victor's father absolutely hates anything to do with figure skating.
• Follow in My Footsteps: What Konstantin wanted for his son instead of figure skating.
• Forgiven, but Not Forgotten: Though Victor does eventually end up on good terms with his uncle, he doesn't forget the role that Mikhail played in his childhood turning out the way it had.
• Freudian Excuse: Konstantin Nikiforov is a homophobic asshole who violently opposes his son's love of skating. But both stem from the bullying he endured from Mikhail, who became a Knight Templar Big Brother to Victor's mother after she and Konstantin were engaged.
• The Fundamentalist: Konstantin is depicted as this. While he is still very conservative, he does grow out of it by the end of the NHK arc.
• Game-Breaking Injury: J.J.'s Achilles tendon is severed when he and Yuri collide on the ice in Detroit in Chapter 246.
• Generation Xerox: Many people comment about how much Victor and his Uncle look alike. This is played for drama in that because of their similarities Konstantin can't see his own son as anything other than Mikhail 2.0, and takes his anger from Mikhail's bullying when they were children out on Victor.
• Half-Identical Twins: Victor's mother Tatiyana and uncle Mikhail.
• Happily Married: Victor and Yuri. The conflicts they face after their engagement come from outside sources, like Victor's traumatic childhood, the expectations Yuri's facing now that he's proven himself in the Grand Prix Final, Yurio's anger issues causing a strain on his friendship with Yuri, etc.
• Heel Realization: Chapter 215 ends with Konstantin finally admitting that it was his fault that Victor had such a traumatic childhood and beginning to make amends.
• Heroic BSoD: Tends to happen when the fic leans in the direction of drama.
  • After all the drama happening in between the France and China competitions, Victor, after he's had a few drinks, starts to believe that he's failed as both a coach and a husband. Yuri quickly talks him out of it.
  • Mikhail spends the chapters between Victor's NHK Short Program and Free Skates in one when it's finally made clear to him how badly he screwed things up.
  • Yuri briefly goes into one in Chapter 321 when he learns that Victor has been sanctioned by the RSF. While he gets out of it after a nap, Victor goes into one in Chapter 325 when the reality of the situation finally hits him.
• Hold Up Your Score: Chris, Phichit, Yuko, and Yurio score Victor and Yuri's makeup sex in Chapter 77 based on how loud the two were being.
  • Phichit gives a 10. Yurio gives a 0 for the couple being loud enough to be heard at all. Chris gives a 6 because they only heard Yuri.
• Idiot Ball: Minako all but invokes this by pointing out that for all his intelligence, Mikhail makes dumb decisions when it comes to his family, as detailed under Innocently Insensitive.
• I Have No Son!: Konstantin considers Victor dead to him. The feeling is mutual. Until the NHK Trophy at least.
• Improbable Sports Skills:
  • Victor's Rage Skate ends with eight quads and a quad loop/quad toe loop combination.
  • Yuri does the same thing for his Exhibition at Japanese Nationals, but with his own spin on it.
• Informed Kindness: In the first half of the NHK arc, Mikhail repeatedly tells everyone that Konstantin Nikiforov isn't really as bad a guy as he seems and that his treatment of Victor is an anomally in spite of all evidence to the contrary. This happens several times until Yakov finally shuts him up in Chapter 192.
  Yakov: "NO ONE CARES!!! What you claim and what we see are incompatible."
• Innocently Insensitive:
  • Mikhail is so eager to have a big family reconciliation between himself, Konstantin, and Victor (as the letters Tatiana left for them expressed her wish that the three of them would do so if she died before any of them) that he brushes off Victor's mental state while visiting their hometown, and repeatedly pushes Victor's triggers even when Victor has a panic attack from being forced to visit the mill where Konstantin works. He then ignores Victor's protests of bringing Konstantin to NHK and pressures Victor into agreeing when his nephew is in too much mental and emotional turmoil to put his foot down and speak his mind. He means well, but as Minako points out, he picks up the Idiot Ball when it comes to decisions regarding his family.
  • Celeste, the girl Yuri mentioned in the show who he shoved off when she tried to hug him. When she learns that Yuri has changed his last name to Nikiforov, she initially chews Yuri out for taking his devotion to Victor too far. Not being a figure skater or skating fan, she never kept up with Yuri's exploits after their last meeting and was thus unaware of his marriage to Victor. She apologizes when she learns of her error.
• Insatiable Newly Weds: Victor and Yuri have sex quite frequently once they officially get together, though it is a slow-burning introduction for first-timer Yuri.
• In-Universe Catharsis: A majority of the times Victor and Yuri have sex in the fic are for this very reason. Victor hanges a lampshade by calling it "Post-Conflict Carnal Urges"
  • His "Rage Skate" is built around this as a means of venting all of his repressed anger, resentment, and hatred towards his father.
  • Chapter 263 is one both in and out of universe, when Victor tells Yuri about how exhausted he is by all the drama happening around them, and how he feels that, in trying to please everyone, Yuri is ignoring how he feels. They discuss the issue like mature adults, and have makeup sex afterwards.
  • Chapter 274 is this for Victor, when he finally gets to vent to everyone about all the stress he's under. See Rage Breaking Point.
• It's All About Me: Yurio continues to be frustrated that Victor left to coach Yuri instead of staying in Russia to coach him.
  • When he was younger, Mikhail had a tendency to try and make himself the center of attention. He still slips into it in the present, when he gets mad at Victor in Chapter 293 over his wounded pride when he gets jusfiably called out on his impulsiveness and Minako breaks off their engagement.
  • There's also J.J., just like on the show.
• Jerkass Realization: In Chapter 266, Yurio finally realizes just how much of a jerk he's been for the last few chapters.
  • Likewise, it takes getting his Achiles Tendon severed in a collision with Yuri in Chapter 244/245 for J.J. to recognize how egotistical he comes across to his fellow skaters.
• Kissing Under the Influence: They're already married, but Chapter 220 ends with Victor and Yuri making love while drunk.
• Knight Templar Big Brother: Despite being twins, Victor's uncle Mikhail was this to Tatiana.
• Lemon: The fic is sprinkled with chapters focused on Victor and Yuri having sex. Usually as fanservice and a pallate cleanser when the story leans away from the drama.
• The Loins Sleep Tonight: True to life, there are times whether one or the other can't get aroused despite the other's attempts to help. For example, Victor can't get it up during sex the night after the GPF Short Program in Chapter 300, primarily because the stress of the latest drama with Mikhail and the potential ramifications of him forfeiting the Gold medal to Yuri.
• Making Love in All the Wrong Places: Besides having sex on an airplane, Victor and Yuri have sex in the middle of a competition in Chapter 211.
  • They also do it in their hotel bathroom in Chapter 189 while Phichit and Yurio are watching a horror movie in the bedroom.
• Mile-High Club: Victor and Yuri have sex on their flight to France in Chapter 104, although they had it in their private cabin instead of the lavatory.
• The Mister and the Ex: Happens when Victor's ex-girlfriend Sophia shows up in Bordeaux, France as a reporter. Yuri is at first ignorant of who she is, but after he finds out, he is dubious and wary of her for several chapters but eventually sees that she's no threat.
• Mundane Made Awesome: While the visual displays of the skating routines from the show are lost in text, the author manages to more than compensate for the lack of visuals. However, on the Archive of Our Own version of the story, there are many occasions (especially towards the NHK-and-beyond parts of the fic) where high-quality artwork has been rendered and embedded into the fic.
• My Beloved Smother: A gender bent version, and technically an uncle rather than parent, but Victor and Minako discuss in Chapter 281 how Mikhail is so afraid of letting people down that he acts like a perpetual meddling parent without letting people actually makes decisions for themselves. He means well, but as Minako points out, that he has a tendency to ignore other peoples' feelings or make them feel like the bad guy for disagreeing.
  Minako: "It's like he carries himself in permanent-dad-mode, for everyone, not just the people he's actually a dad to."
• My Own Private "I Do": A case of both Type A and Type B. Yuri and Victor were planning on a big wedding ceremony, but because of their skating schedules, they decide to elope instead. When they return to Hasetsu for their honeymoon, Yuri's parents set up a traditional Japanese wedding so their friends and family can attend. Much later, Yuri and Victor resurrect ideas of having that big original wedding as Yuri described seeing in his mind's eye.
• Named by the Adaptation: The girl who hugged Yuri in Detroit is introduced as Celeste. A few of Victor's unnamed past girlfriends are also mentioned, with one making an appearance in the story.
• Not Me This Time: A non-villainous example. After getting Victor to agree to bringing his father to NHK a week prior when Victor was too stressed out to say no, when Mikhail tells Minako that Victor agreed to coreograph Yurio's future programs while sitting down for the Grand Prix Final, she initially assumes that the agreement was made under similar circumstances. Mikhail swears that he made absolutely sure not to have a repeat of the previous weekend's fiasco.
• Oblivious to Love: Yuri Katsuki, both in canon and in the fic. According to the Detroit Skate Club, at least ten people of both genders tried to get his attention and he didn't even notice. Yuri is also frequently (and humorously) lampooned for not having realized Victor was in love with him from the onset, in spite of Victor's overly flirtatious manner (Yuri assumed this was just Victor's personality, rather than directed at him specifically.)
• Official Couple: Victor and Yuri, naturally.
• O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Victor invokes this as part of his "Rage Skate". While the majority of his skating routines are about love, his Evoke routine is meant as a way to express all the rage and resentment towards his father that he's kept bottled up for most of his life.
• Original Character: Every member of Victor's family is one of these in this fic, since the anime has yet to go into such detail on Victor's past.
  • Mikhail Rozovsky, Victor's uncle, along with his kids, Nikki, Sergio, and Victoria.
  • Konstantin Nikiforov, Victor's father.
  • Sophia, Victor's ex-girlfriend.
  • Asahi Saito, one of the 'dime a dozen' top Japanese skaters that Yuri mentioned in the series.
• Original Flavor: Despite two changes to canon (namely the show's lack of homophobia, and Yuri's exhibition skate in Barcelona (which was simply moved to Four Continents for plot-reasons and also because, realistically, Yuri hadn't been able to land a quad Lutz or Flip before the FS in Barcelona, so he obviously wasn't ready yet)), the author has made it clear that she is trying to stick as close to the spirit of the series as possible.
• Parental Abandonment: Yurio's parents aren't dead, but they have almost no interest in being involved in their son's life. The original plans Kubo had to have Yurio's mother show up for 'Onsen on Ice' is mentioned at one point, and she herself makes an appearance briefly after the GPF in Detroit.
• Parental Substitute: Yakov became one for Victor when the latter left home at the age of 12.
  • A darker version occured in regards to Victor's relationship with his uncle. Mikhail unconsciously tried to replace Konstantin as a father figure when his efforts to sabotage his sister's engagement failed. He later realizes this and apologizes for it because his motives at the time were innocent; he really just loved Victor and wanted to be part of his life..
  • Yurio gradually comes to see Mikhail as a father-figure over the course of the fic.
• Personal Horror: It takes visiting his mother's grave for Victor to realize that he had been projecting his guilt and self-loathing for not making the effort to stay in touch onto her, and is angry with himself for not caring that she died until long after the funeral.
• Plot-Mandated Friendship Failure: Yurio's friendship with Yuri and Victor is strained after the competition in France. They reconcile in China.
• Poor Communication Kills:
  • Chapter 237 reveals that Sergio had been trying to get Mikhail to put his foot down on some of the craziness his ex-wife put the kids through. His way of expressing this was to put on a Jerkass facade and hope his father got the hint.
• Posthumous Character: Victor is notified of his mother's death in Chapter 23, and any further information about her is relayed through her son, her husband, her brother, or through nightmares/visions and/or flashbacks.
  • Likewise with Mikhail's ex-wife in Chapter 218, although she'd been mentioned as The Ghost in previous chapters.
• Rage Breaking Point: Chapter 274 is Victor's, with everyone criticizing his coaching after Yuri's Short Program prompting him to vent about how he feels regarding everything that's been going on.
• Retcon: The fic overrides the series' lack of homophobic characters for the sake of drama.
• Right Through the Wall: Chris, Yuko, Yurio, and Phichit can all hear when Victor and Yuri have makeup sex in Yuri's bedroom at Yu-topia in Chapter 76. Everyone gives them a score based on how loud the couple were.
• The Runner-Up Takes It All: Invoked. Yuri comes in second place in the Grand Prix Final, but Victor forfeits the Gold medal in an over-the-top romantic gesture.
• Seduction-Proof Marriage: Victor and Yuri are definitely this. When Sophia says she'd still be willing to date him again if he asked, Victor firmly turns her down.
• Self-Serving Memory: Played for drama both times, although one of them is played with.
  • Victor remembers most of the trauma of his childhood, but he's spent his entire adult life doing trying to forget it all by invoking this trope.
  • Mikhail has fond memories of being a Cool Uncle to Victor, and turning over a new leaf after his nephew was born. But when he and Konstantin start arguing in Chapter 215, Mikhail realizes and admits that he'd unintentionally been attempting to supplant Konstantin from the role of father-figure out of jealousy.
• Sex for Solace: After Yuri's accident, he and Victor have sex the morning of the GPF Short Program to help Yuri feel normal after all the panic and confusion of the hospital visit.
• Side Bet: In Chapter 212, Victor tells their entourage that he and Yuri had sex between his free skate and the medal ceremony. Yurio immediately tells Minako to pay up.
• Silence, You Fool!: Yurio's response to the Russian media when reporters start making comments about Victor's relationship with Yuri negatively impacting his skating ability is an outraged "PISS OFF!"
• Silver Fox: Mikhail. The rest of the cast predict that Victor will become one in a couple of decades. Yuri is afraid that he will not since neither of his parents are particularly attractive in their old age.
• Single-Target Sexuality. Victor and Yuri discuss this, as (in this fic, at least, since it was shown in the series that Yuri had a thing for Yuko and Victor was never once suggested to have had same-sex relations in the past, even though he was openly willing to discuss those relationships before Yuri cut him off) neither of them has been particularly attracted to men prior to their relationship. They come to the conclusion that they are "Yurisexual" and "Victorsexual" respectively.
• Stepford Smiler: Victor, even more so than in canon since this fic gives him a traumatic past he does everything he can to bury.
• Strip Poker: To the ammusement of everyone but Yuri and Yurio, this is what happens when both Victor and Yuri get drunk at the same time in Chapter 220.
• Team Dad: Mikhail becomes the unofficial dad-friend to the main characters. Unforunately, his biggest flaw is that he takes this a bit too far, to the point where the adults around him (including his girlfriend and his nephew) start to feel like they have no say in the decisions he makes that impact their lives.
• Tempting Fate: In Chapter 228, Victor comments that J.J.'s ego will eventually get someone hurt. 17 chapter later, J.J. and Yuri collide on the ice during practice and are rushed to the hospital.
• Trauma Button: Victor has several relating to his family, and Mikhail spends most of Chapters 173-175 insensitively pounding on all of them.
  • Simply looking at the mill where his father works (and wanted him to work as well instead of skating) makes him uncomfortable. Standing inside triggers a panic attack forcing him to imagine what his life would look like without skating or Yuri in his life.
  • Having his father physically present for his NHK short program causes him to black out and bomb his program fighting back the nightmares he had when he got away from the man in the first place.
• Twin Switch: This was the favorite passtime of Victor's mother and uncle before they both hit puberty. Konstantine's homophobia stems from the fact that Mikhail continued to do it when they got older in the hopes of sabotaging his sister's engagement, making suggestive comments every time he revealed himself.
• Unsettling Gender-Reveal: Mikhail weaponized this trope whenever he and Victor's mother switched places especially when she began dating Konstantin.

• Wall Bang Him: Victor and Yuri do this when having sex in the bathroom of their Sapporo hotel in Chapter 189.
• Wham Line:
  • Victor in Chapter 320: "The RSF kicked me off the team."
• What Did I Do Last Night?: Yuri has one of these moments after waking up with a hangover in Chapter 221. Learning what shenanigans he and Victor got up to in the previous chapter causes him to faint.
• What the Hell, Hero?:
  • Yurio calls Yuri out for letting his successes go to his head.
  • In Chapter 49, Yuri delievers an epic one to Yurio for the Russian Yuri's entitled attitude.
  • After the tournament in France, Yurio snaps at Victor and Yuri for skipping his Free Skate after all the effort they put into helping him get back on the Russian skating team.
  • Mikhail is given this treatment from just about everyone for inviting Konstantin to Japan when Victor was too emotionally riled up to say what he really wanted. The same goes for when he dragged Victor to the steel mill in their hometown against his will even when Victor made it clear that the mere sight of the building made him uncomfortable.
