- Acceptable Breaks from Canon: Some of the Warrior Cats universe rules are broken, but in an acceptable way.
- Angst: Appears to be this, there are many moments in the story that qualify as being angsty, more especially when Russetstar exiles Milkcloud and Skyspots after she discovers that they are mates.
- Ask a Stupid Question...: Who are these cats? Rewind, and the names of all three cats in the dream was featured.
- Betrayal Fic: The brief blurb in the prologue shows this. It's about Russetstar screaming at Milkcloud and Skyspots about how they betrayed the clan, and how they did can be read in Chapter 1.
- Cats Are Lazy: Appears to be implied with Yarrowpaw. She's always sleepy and instantly panics when Snaillight wakes her up, asking if they are out of catmint.
- Cliffhanger: What this story abruptly ends on with no explanation. It ends with Russetstar exiling Milkcloud and Skyspots from DarkClan, by using some of her warriors to force them to.
- Cut Short: We only get one chapter, which ends on a cliffhanger.
- The Ditz: Appears to be Snaillight. When she has a strange dream and then wakes up from it, she asks questions like, What clan? and Who are these cats?. The names of said cats were said in the dream.
- The Exile: Milkcloud and Skyspots get exiled from DarkClan. And by force. The reason they were exiled? Russetstar found out that they were mates.
- Forced from Their Home: Russetstar uses force to get Skyspots and Milkcloud to leave after they are exiled.
- Het: Milkcloud and Skyspots. Milkcloud is a she-cat and Skyspots is a tom.
- Love Across Battlelines: Appears to be implied. Milkcloud is a medicine cat, who cannot have a mate, even though she is mates with Skyspots, a warrior. This love is forbidden, as medicine cats cannot have mates.
- The Prophecy: Snaillight receives a prophecy, which she interprets to be linked to something evil.
- Short Story: We get allegiances and two pages of one chapter. It's longer than a drabble, but sill short. According to Wattpad, it takes 9 minutes to read it.
- Slap-Slap-Kiss: Milkcloud argues with Skyspots as to what took him so long to meet him, and immediately after, they twine their tails together and purr.
