Meridian Sinister
is a fanfiction of the Harry Potter series, where the books are revealed to be fiction but the world of Harry Potter was real all along. The series is written by nerfherder-han and is in its early stages, and features a lot of audience participation in the form of the cast being sent in by readers (an SYOC).
The series follows Meridian "Meri" Sinister as she's forced on the run by a group of Dark Wizards who seek to learn and improve from the methods of Voldemort in the books and films. Dragged away from her quaint muggle life, Meri is forced to survive in a world she thought she never had a future in.
This work provides examples of:
- Bathroom Brawl: Of the very one-sided variety. After discovering Florence being bullied by Gryffindors, a young Leopold not only one-hit K.O.s one of the bullies, but injures himself just before the prefects show up to make it look like he was attacked by them.
- Birds of a Feather: Quite literally when it comes to Meri, Damian, and Fee being bird animagi. They even call themselves the Bird Squad.
- Bully Magnet: Implied to be Florence during his time at Hogwarts.
- Class Reunion: The wedding doubles as this, based on how many classmates from Hogwarts wind up reuniting after graduation. Lena and Enzo even realise at the last minute that the classmates they discussed on their way to Ireland were, in fact, each other.
- Fairytale Wedding Dress: Clotilde starts with one. And then she gets blood all over it when she dies at her own wedding.
- Person of Mass Destruction: Leopold outs Florence as this at the wedding. Everyone who knew him at Hogwarts is immediately fearful of the repercussions of Florence losing control.
- Recursive Canon: Played with. In the world of Meridian Sinister, the Harry Potter books are considered well-known fiction that takes liberties with the real wizarding world, right down to the professors at Hogwarts and the staff of the Ministry.
- Rejected Apology: Ophelia rejects Armand’s attempt to apologise for something in their school years. Turns out, it wasn’t Ophelia who deserved an apology from Armand.
- She Is All Grown Up: Played for laughs. Florence is noted to look so sickly as a child that everyone expected him to meet some kind of untimely death, and expresses such upon reunion. When Ophelia sees him, the first thing she notes (without thinking) is how attractive he got.Fee: You got hot.
- Teacher's Pet: It’s implied Keira was this at Hogwarts."“They probably remembered her as Snape’s little teacher’s pet, too.”
