Mal Meets The Rebel
is a Total Drama fanfiction by Bloodylilcorpse, set after an alternate version of Total Drama All-Stars, where Mal and Duncan are both incarcerated in an all-boys juvie, with Mal having gained his own body, instead of just being part of Mike. When a new girl called Roxanne is sent there, Mal takes an immediate interest in her, but she repeatedly spurns his advances. Also takes place after SideshowJazz1's fics, Please Bail Out Bailey! and Bailey In Exile.
Mal Meets The Rebel contains examples of:
- Action Girl: Roxanne. She's small, but manages to flip a guy twice her size on her first day in juvie. Not for nothing is she known around school as the Queen of Mayhem.
- All Men Are Perverts: Justified, as most of the boys in this juvie are sex offenders.
- Beta Couple: Duncan and Bailey are this to Mal and Roxanne, as their relationship is calmer and less volatile.
- Chained to a Bed: Bailey, when Mal loses his temper and decides to punish her for everything she's told Roxanne. Played for Drama.
- Crazy Jealous Guy: Mal, increasingly as the story develops, to the point that when Bailey tries to tell him that Roxanne is into someone, he automatically assumes that it's someone else, despite Bailey's description obviously fitting him.
- Cute Bruiser: Roxanne.
- Demoted to Extra: Bailey, after two stories about her, is mentioned repeatedly and appears, but only as Duncan's girlfriend, Mal's former "slave-girl" and later on, Roxanne's friend.
- Dominatrix: Mal dreams about Roxanne becoming this.
- Erotic Dream: One of the first things that tells Mal that he is interested in Roxanne. She has several similar dreams, but a lot of them evolve into nightmares.
- Fiery Redhead: Roxanne often comes off as this.
- Good Is Not Soft: Several characters appear to both subvert and play this trope, but Roxanne the most. She won't hesitate to defend her friends and herself against Mal or anyone else, and chances are she'll win.
- Hypno Trinket: At one point, Roxanne wears a bracelet that turns out to be this. It foreshadows the collar she later forces on Mal.
- Killer Rabbit: Make that killer squirrel. Ben might be cute, but try to hurt Roxanne around him and he'll attack.
- Love Makes You Crazy: Bailey and Duncan discuss Mal's behaviour being more irrational than usual as his feelings towards Roxanne develop.
- Lust Object: Roxanne, mainly to Steve and intitally this to Mal, only because she is the first girl in this juvie. When Bailey is exposed, it is hinted that she will also become this to people.
- Morality Pet: Subverted with Roxanne to Mal. He sometimes holds back in order to get closer to her.
- Replacement Goldfish: At a point, Bailey fears that Roxanne is this to Mal for her. Luckily, Mal takes his relationship with Roxanne more seriously and has real emotions for her.
- Saying Too Much:
- Bailey tells Roxanne that Mal is in love with her. Mal constantly threatens Bailey for giving Roxanne inside information on him.
- The Scapegoat: Mal blames Bailey and Steve instead of himself for Roxanne's coldness towards him. Somewhat justified, as both have given Roxanne information on Mal that he didn't want her to know, but he can't understand that it's his own actions, more than anything, that are driving her away.
- Sweet Polly Oliver: Bailey disguises herself as a boy so she can get into the same juvenile detention centre as Duncan.
