After Kamala Khan is arrested by SHIELD for a violation of the Sokovia Accords, she must endure harsh conditions at the Raft while Bruno and Nakia desperately investigate her disappearance.

- Anguished Declaration of Love: Bruno dramatically tells Kamala that he loves her and swears that he didn't become friends with her just because of his attraction to her before she interrupts him and tells him that she reciprocates his love.
- Break the Cutie: Kamala Khan is arrested by SHIELD, tortured, and is broken.
- Criminal Found Family: Wanda, Sam, Clint, and Kamala develop a very close relationship while imprisoned on the Raft because their cells were right next to each other. They are also technically criminals under the law due to their violations of the Sokovia Accords.
- Dance of Romance: Kamala and Bruno share a romantic dance in the starlight after they confessed their love for each other.
- Defiant Captive: Kamala's response to being interrogated by Agent Ross is to cuss him out.
- Department of Redundancy Department: Chapter 10 starts off with "humari adhuri kahani" note repeated four times.
- Electric Torture: Kamala was electrocuted every twenty minutes during an interrogation using a shock collar.
- Cold-Blooded Torture: Several SHIELD agents electrocuted Kamala every twenty minutes during her interrogation, even though she is sixteen.
- Foreign Language Title: The fic is almost entirely in English, except for the title which roughly translates to "something that was incomplete (will be completed)" from Hindi.
- Gratuitous Foreign Language: Several chapters start off with Hindi song lyrics. Justified, as Kamala is trying to remember good memories while she is imprisoned, and she probably associates Hindi/Urdu songs with her family.
- Internal Reveal: The audience knows that Kamala is alive, as multiple chapters are told from her point of view, but her loved ones don't. Bruno gets told by Iron Man, but is forced to keep it a secret until he gets the all-clear.
- Language Barrier: Downplayed. It is noted that Yusuf is the only one in the room that cannot understand Giulia and Bruno's conversation in Italian because his wife Muneeba picked it up from talking to Giulia. He does have his wife to translate though.
- Love Hurts: Sam tells Kamala that even though love is fickle and someone you love can totally rip you apart if they choose to, true love is worth all the pain and dangers that come with it.Sam: You can never truly love someone until you aren’t afraid of getting your heart broken. When you love someone, you give them power over your heart. You can never be completely sure if someone won’t break your heart, yet you love them anyway. Because real, true love is worth it.
- Named by the Adaptation: Nonna Carelli's first name is never given in ''Ms. Marvel, but her name is Giulia here.
- O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Kamala immediately realizes that something horrible happened to Bruno after she sees how gaunt, lifeless, and withdrawn he is and the fact that he had a stress-induced heart attack as a teenager.
- Poirot Speak:
- Wanda mostly speaks in English, but keeps terms of affection in Russian, like "моя дорогая девочка" and "малышка".
- Nonna Carelli keeps most of her sentences in English, but speaks partially in Itallian when she's trying to be affectionate or if she is really emotional.
- Secret Identity: As in canon, Ms. Marvel's secret identity is Kamala Khan.
- Shock Collar: The Raft outfits its prisoners with shock collars, so that they can electrocute them as a punishment or a deterrent.
- Spin the Bottle: Kamala plays a game of spin the bottle with Clint, Wanda, and Sam, though it doesn't involve kissing like most instances of this game. Instead, she talks about her feelings for Bruno.
