In Media Bellum
is a reader-insert story set in the Transformers: Prime universe, written by Authorticity on AO3. It begins in the earlier episodes of season 1 and follows more or less alongside canon, before eventually diverging around chapter 40, and stars a protagonist (referred to only as 'you', or 'the neighbour', or other similar terms) who is first brought to Outpost Omega-One after seeing Optimus (and later on Bulkhead and Bumblebee) fight Decepticons while stargazing.
In Media Bellum provides examples of:
- Eldritch Abomination: The beings and creatures Reader dreams about, two of which are implied to be Primus and Unicron, the cybertronian gods of creation and destruction.
- Team Mom: Reader sometimes has to fight the need to fuss over their giant robot companions, even knowing that they're much older and more battle-hardened than they are. However, they do end up becoming this to the kids.
- Theme Naming: Each chapter is named after something space-related.
- The Nameless: The Reader hasn't, so far, been given a name, despite having numerous chapters focusing on them, their family and their history. It's even commented on, after Ratchet finds he can't remember how to label them in his contacts.
- Trademark Favourite Food: Reader sure loves broth.
