I Am Rose Quartz is the first installment of the Renegades AU series written by Lucigoosey_The_Lightbringer.
Steven Universe finds himself stranded on Homeworld after turning himself in as Rose Quartz to save his friends. This story focuses on a divergent timeline in which Steven was unable to escape Homeworld and the Diamonds, and was ultimately forced to face punishment for the apparent shattering of Pink Diamond.

- Electric Torture: Steven is tortured with destabilizers after attempting to escape, developing a fear of electricity.
- Heroic Sacrifice: Steven turns himself in as Rose Quartz to protect his friends and family.
- Misplaced Retribution: Blue Diamond tortures Steven for Rose Quartz's crimes, believing him to be the one that shattered her beloved Pink.
- Trauma-Induced Amnesia: As a result of brainwashing and Lapis being shattered, Steven also temporarily loses his memories of his life on Earth.
- Sleep Deprivation Punishment: Steven doesn't sleep the entire time he's on Homeworld, which is a total of eight months.
