Sometimes being a hero, just means helping a person at the right time.

Who knows, you might even get a few friends and the most confusing power you've ever heard of out of it.

Even if you have to watch somebody die for it to happen.

I Am Infamous is a Fusion Fic between inFAMOUS and My Hero Academia where Izuku gains Delsin Rowe's powers and is trained by his fellow vigilantes in the lead up to UA.

The story is written by Nimathesis.

I Am Infamous provides examples of:

  • Affectionate Nickname: Izuku gets several of these. The Conduits and Jiro all call him Green, Zeke calls him Green Bean, Aizawa calls him Problem Child, and Tokoyami calls him Ashen One.
    • Subverted with Deku, however as Ochako decides against calling him that after hearing it's origins.
  • Adaptational Badass: Instead of receiving One for All, Izuku is accidentally given Delsin's Power Copying though at the start of the story he only has Smoke. Also because he got his powers before the year of training started instead of at the end of it, Izuku has far better control of his powers by the time of the entrance exam.
  • Adaptational Early Appearance:
    • Detective Tsukauchi first appears in the second chapter.
    • Nezu and Aizawa are introduced at the entrance exam.
    • All For One first appears before the USJ.
  • Adaptational Heroism: Lady Nagant is a Vigilante in this universe because of meeting Cole before she had her falling out with the Public Safety Comission and while still wanted by the government never works with All For One.
  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul: Due to Izuku not becoming his successor and meeting the Conduits who supported his dream, All Might and Izuku are not close in this universe. Instead their relationship is somewhat awkward as All Might feels very guilty for telling Izuku he couldn't be a Hero and Izuku is still somewhat annoyed about it, though All Might's genuine happiness at seeing the boy make it into UA mitigates the resentment as it helps Izuku understand that it was well intentioned and that crushing his dream wasn't an example of But for Me, It Was Tuesday for All Might.
  • Arc Welding: On account of the story being a Fusion Fic. The setting of My Hero Academia is the world of inFAMOUS and Conduit powers were originally quirks before being effected by Ray Spheres and experiments in Curden Cay.
  • Awesomeness by Analysis: Izuku, as in canon, but taken to a further extent due to Cole emphasizing situational awareness in his training. Zeke notes that if Izuku didn't want to be a hero, he would be suggesting a career with the police or in quirk analysis after seeing his skills.
    • Nezu is also impressed by his analysis of quirks, noting he'd only seen that level of skill and analysis from people who had gone to college specifically to do so and recommends Izuku use it to help out his classmate.
  • Chain Pain: Delsin used one as in canon and it's given to Izuku to use after he's improved with using the powers Delsin gave him.
  • Colour Coded Eyes: When Delsin takes over Izuku's body, Izuku's eyes turn partially brown like Delsin's were. As control slowly switches back to Izuku they turn slowly back to full green.
  • Colour-Coded for Your Convenience: When Delsin used Smoke, the embers were red, but when Izuku uses it they're green. When Delsin takes over Izuku's body they turn red again.
  • Crush Blush: Izuku and Ochako are prone to these around each other from pretty much the day they meet.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: The Conduits versus a bunch of drug dealers.
  • Death by Adaptation: Hisashi Midoriya is heavily implied, and later confirmed, to have passed away before the story begins unlike canon where he is merely working overseas.
  • Death by Origin Story: Delsin dies almost immediately after Izuku finds him, his reassurance that Izuku already is a hero for trying to help him and inadvertently giving Izuku his powers setting up the rest of the story.
  • Embarrassing Nickname: Delsin regarded "the Smoker" as this, annoyed that his friends got to choose their vigilante names and he got saddled with something that lame.
  • First-Name Basis: The Conduits encourage people to refer to them this way as they're American, and Izuku and Ochako end up as this once she meets them, since Izuku is used to being on a first name basis with the Conduits and Ochako figures it's only fair that he call her by her first name if she's using his.
  • Forced to Watch: Mineta is forced to watch as the Nomu crushes Izuku to death.
  • Fusion Fic: The worlds of inFAMOUS and My Hero Academia are one and the same here. The events of the first two games and Second Son took place about five years before the start of the story.
  • Good Thing You Can Heal: Cole is not very worried about beating the crap out of Izuku during his training because Smoke gives him regeneration abilities.
  • Harmful to Minors: Mineta sees Midoriya die and it hits him hard.
  • In Spite of a Nail: Izuku still destroys the Zero Pointer to save Ochako and is then saved by her.
  • Like Brother and Sister: Fetch and Izuku. He tells Jiro that she's like a sister to him, and when Ochako accidentally spills the beans Fetch is flustered but doesn't seem to take issue with it. To a lesser extent, Izuku and Eugene.
  • My Greatest Failure: All Might considers killing All For One, or so he believes, instead of bringing him to justice and telling Izuku he couldn't be a hero to be his.
  • Muggle Born of Mages: Izuku, as in canon, but a flashback reveals Delsin was originally quirkless before becoming a Conduit.
  • Running Gag:
    • Izuku pulling notebooks from seemingly nowhere leading people to think that's his secret quirk.
    • People mistaking Izuku's analysis skills for an analysis quirk.
  • Shipper on Deck: Fetch, Cole, and Zeke for Izuku and Ochako after seeing how the former looks at her when she saves him. It only increases when they meet her.
  • Super-Empowering: Downplayed. Ray Spheres and other currently unknown methods turn a normal quirk into a Conduit power.
  • Team Dad: Cole for the Conduits, though Zeke sometimes steps into the role when he can't.
  • Training from Hell: In addition to having to clean all of Dagobah Beach, Izuku also has to deal with being attacked by Cole, combat training from pretty much all of the Conduits, and more careful power control from Fetch and Eugene.
  • Trauma Button: The ability to steal quirks. It reminds the Conduits of the dark days of being trapped in Curden Cay.
    • Bringing up Delsin's death is also a sure way to make Izuku start crying.
  • Yank the Dog's Chain: After resolving to save Delsin and become a hero even without a quirk, Izuku can do nothing to save him as he was already far too injured by the time paramedics arrive.
  • You Are Better Than You Think You Are: Delsin tells Izuku that he's already a hero because he's helping him without thought of reward.
  • You Remind Me of X: All of the Conduits find Izuku a kindred spirit to Delsin.
