The reincarnation of Rinoa Heartilly born shortly before the start of the Third Ninja War. Written by crystalwatcher, audience participation is heavily encouraged in each voting period, which tends to cover several months of in-story time occurring. Utilizing her powers as a Sorceress, her memories from her past life, and her jutsu as a Uchiha and Ninja of the Village Hidden in the Leaf, she will seek to fulfill the Destiny that awaits her and prevent the coming Annihilation. Whatever that turns out to be.

It can be read here.

This fanfiction provides examples of the following:

  • The Ace: Hyuuga Misaki and Uchiha Sayaka were so skilled they continually exceeded their teachers ability to teach them. They were so good they graduated a year early and got put on the same Genin team under one of the Sannin
  • Achievement System: The author posts Achievements anytime a milestone is reached in the story.
  • Action Girl: All the females in this story qualify so far if they've had more than a sentence dedicated to them.
  • A Lesson Learned Too Well: After the war games of the Genin Exam, most teams learned where Team 9 was at and were starting to take dangerous measures in attempts to improve themselves.
  • Alternate Universe Fic: Two way:
    • Final Fantasy VIII: Continuation fic, taking place after the events of the game or maybe during the events of the game...Time Travel makes it difficult to say when history is a Timey-Wimey Ball.
    • Naruto: Alternate History. Starting off prior to the start of the Third Ninja War, its inevitable that events aren't going to be the same when Orochimaru is your Jounin Sensei.
  • Arranged Marriage: Hyuuga Misaki with Hyuuga Hizashi. Nara Shikaku, Akimichi Chouza, Yamanaka Inoichi are also engaged to other people. It appears to be a very common practice in the village with the Clans though Sayaka's Mom doesn't approve of it so young.
  • Badass Adorable: Sayaka is considered one of the best fighters in her class but give her a puppy and she's giggling like a little kid.
  • Badass Crew: Sayaka, Misaki, and Shiiru in a Genin Team led by Orochimaru
  • Badass Family: Part of the Uchiha clan, Dad was a ninja, Mom is a Retired Konohagakure Tokubetsu Jounin, and everyone considers Sayaka one of the best of her generation.
  • Berserk Button:
    • Tsunade was a little pissed at Sayaka when she blew up a portion of the Hokage Monument.
    • Sayaka doesn't like it when one of her teammates gets cut up and reacts quite violently.
  • Beauty, Brains, and Brawn: Where Sayaka is the social one, Misaki only cares about her faith and her combat, and Shiiru who can take hits that would turn a normal genin into a smear in the grass.
  • Big Eater: Misaki counts for this in relation to Hot Dogs.
  • Chef of Iron: Shiiru fits in the ordinary variety as he wants to be a ninja so he can get the needed funds to start up his own restaurant.
  • The Chosen Many: Consider just how many people in Sayaka's generation are scheduled for global influence.
  • Covered in Gunge: On multiple occasions Kushina has done this with the sudden summoning of cake batter in a battle.
  • Cringe Comedy: Orochimaru calls out Sayaka on doing this where ever she goes.
  • Cursed with Awesome: With her power as a Sorceress, Sayaka has a Chakra so powerful that if a Hyuuga were to look at her they would be blinded.
  • Cute and Psycho: Inoichi believes Sayaka is this as she seems to take an inordinate amount of pleasure in frightening him. Considering she's a young girl who's choices are decided upon by the hivemind of a forum it'd be hard to argue he's wrong.
  • Dance Battler: Sayaka practiced Dance for three years before combining it with her Taijutsu to create her own style.
  • Even the Girls Want Her: Sayaka was so popular in school she got her own fan club, not that she cared.
    • Sayaka in turn experienced this during her first meeting with Shiva.
  • Expy: Aki is astonishingly similar to Alucard with her powerset.
  • Fantasy World Map: The first post of the quest helpfully provides one of these.
  • Feminine Women Can Cook: Sayaka's Mom is a Baker and taught Sayaka how to cook as well.
  • Finagle's Law: To be expected any time a vote is called where someone has decided to insert an option that is particularly ludicrous when facing an enemy on an even level with Sayaka.
  • Godzilla Threshold: Some of Sayaka's summons cross this threshold and go so far that it's only a good idea to use them when you're no longer worried about collateral damage on a national scale.
  • Gut Feeling: Sayaka has one of these in the very first posts that Annihilation is coming and again when her Mom declares to help her train for the Chunin Exam.
  • I Did What I Had to Do: Orochimaru and Sayaka state that they are willing to do anything to save their friends and family even if it causes them to be alienated.
  • Idiosyncratic Episode Naming: A helpful Story index is faithfully maintained for those that would rather skip straight to the story posts, each with their own unique story titles.
  • Interesting Situation Duel: Avoiding the typical test for a Genin Exam, Sayaka and her team have to run up a mile high cliff face to retrieve a scroll at the top and bring it back down all while being in combat with their Jounin Instructor. Found here.
    • Free-Fall Fight: The Genin Exam includes one of these leading to awesome results.
    • Grievous Harm with a Body: Used to great affect by the Jounin Instructor during Sayaka's Genin Exam as he throws members of the team at each other.
    • Smoke Out: Used to great effect when Sayaka wanted to conceal who was holding on to the scroll during the Genin Exam.
    • Willfully Weak: Orochimaru felt it was better to hold back to accurately judge his student's capabilities during a Genin Exam. The team took advantage of this and was able to seriously disable him so that the only way he could win would be to start using the lethal attacks. Good news for everyone involved, he decided it wasn't a good move for an instructor to make and accepted the loss.
  • Humiliation Conga: Minato experienced this when Sayaka set up a two week long training exercise where he was placed as Red Team leader which was consistently beaten by Blue Team Leader Sayaka in the first week, and in the second week when the Hokage was in charge of the opposing side, leading him to question his abilities and capabilities as a Ninja and Future Hokage Candidate.
  • I Will Find You: When Squall never came back to her, it appears that Rinoa decided to take some drastic measures to be reunited with her Eternal Love.
  • Like a God to Me: Turns out that Sayaka is this to Misaki. Averted when Jaraiya calls Sayaka a Kami after all the jutsu she pulled out during the fight against the Seven Swordsman, as a joke.
  • Mama Bear: When Sayaka comes back late from her reverse summoning, Kaiomi turns into this.
  • Megaton Punch: After frightening Inoichi, Sayaka experiences one of these though whether it was delivered by Shiiru or Inoichi isn't clear, might have been both.
  • Multiple Endings: When voters took the mystery box one too many times they unlocked a Bad End.
  • Noodle Incident: Kaiomi took some of the Uchiha members out camping and gave one of them an irrational fear of tents.
  • One-Hit Kill: Sayaka was the victim of one of these leading to the first bad end of the quest.
    • Sayaka returns the favor however when the forum got a re-do and voted for the non-fatal option.
  • Open Mouth, Insert Foot: When Sayaka first came into contact with Tsunade, one of the legendary Sannin, Sayaka decided it would be best to admit she just wrecked the monument to Tsunade's Grandfather as the way of introducing herself. This lead to predictable results.
  • Or Was It a Dream?: Sayaka has one of these when meditating on her past life and waking up with her stomach covered in fresh blood with no injury for it to have come from.
  • Past-Life Memories: One of the actions Sayaka can take each turn is to meditate on her past life and see Visions of Another Self. Do it enough and Sayaka will have a Split-Personality Merge while too often will lead to Resurrection Sickness occurring.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: When Sayaka gets access to her Sharingan she frightened a squad of Jounin to run away from all the high level jutsu she was throwing around.
  • Refuge in Audacity: In order to distract the other teams in the first exam of the Chunin Exam, Sayaka and Misaka performed a dance number and allowed the other Konoha teams to get the time advantage they needed to pass.
  • Reincarnation: Sayaka is the reincarnation of the Sorceress Rinoa Heartilly.
    • Its later revealed that Sayaka isn't the only Reincarnation in this story. Misaki is a reincarnation of Zell, Kaiomi is the reincarnation of Selphie, Akaba is the reincarnation of Irvinne, Mikoto is the reincarnation of Quistis.
  • Skill Scores and Perks: The quest includes a skill tree for the Ninja Path and Sorceress Path but they are both free form in their development, adapting according to the actions taken by the reader.
  • Split-Personality Merge: Sayaka has an inexplicable love for dogs that is baffling to others.
  • Summon Magic: After their Jounin Instructor was fully healed each member of Team 9 performed the reverse summoning ritual to pair themselves up with an appropriate summon.
    • Sayaka was able to contract with the Guardian Forces of Final Fantasy VIII under the condition that she summon one at least once a month outside of combat to experience the world.
    • Misaki was able to contract with Tigers so long as she 'hold her chosen faith no matter what happens'.
    • Shiiru was able to contract with Armadillos if he provided regular gifts of food to them.
  • Taking You with Me: Sayaka invokes this when she sacrifices her arm, causing long term scarring, in order to cast a full powered Thunder for the first time.
  • The Clan: The Uchiha Clan which serves as the village police force and has a complicated family tree, it wasn't until Sayaka was in her third year in the academy that she learned she was 6th in line for clan head during a Family Reunion.
  • The Confidant: Tsunade turns out to be this for Misaki.
  • The Power of Friendship: Sayaka tells Minato that this is one of his strengths that she doesn't have.
  • Training from Hell: Misaki is more than willing to do this to herself, regularly leading to internal hemorrhaging, torn muscles, and fractured bones.
    • Fugaku's, Shisuis's 'little survival exercise' with Sayaka and her mother in the Forest of Death, resulted emotional scars on them.
  • Underestimating Badassery: The Seven Swordsman of Mist thought they could handle two Sannin towing their genin teams. After all the genin wouldn't be able to do anything to them and this was a rare opportunity to strike with Tsunade out of the picture.
  • We All Die Someday: Right before the Chunin Exam, Sayaka has this ephiphany that they are going to have to kill people and some on their own teams may die as well.
  • Wrong Context Magic: Sayaka's ability as a Sorceress makes it so she has Chakra levels on par with the Tailed Beasts in the setting, able to access any of the primary elements with ease, and to do all that with out any of the customary hand signs any other ninja would have to do.
  • You Kill It, You Bought It: After the fight against the Seven Swordsman of Mist Team 9 got to keep the blades of whichever swordsman they ended up killing.
