Daughter of Darkness is a My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic fanfic written by Tatsurou, author of the Adopted Displaced stories.

There are many theories about Scootaloo. That she's an orphan, that her parents are abusive, that she's somepony's illegitimate child that's been hidden away. But the truth is even stranger. She has a loving mother and father and means the world to them both, the both of them having gone to great lengths all for her.

...Oh and her parents are Alucard and Princess Luna. As if that weren't enough this version of Alucard is the one from Hellsing Ultimate Abridged. What follows is the story of a psychotic father, the sane mother that has to keep him in line, and the mischievous daughter they both adore.

This fanfiction provides examples of:

  • Adaptational Heroism: Nightmare Moon. In canon she was the result of Luna's jealousy towards her sister while here she's a result of pregnancy mood swings, and the Eternal Night idea was done for the sake of her daughter Scootaloo, who literally cannot survive in sunlight until Celestia gives Scootaloo her blessing, magically rendering her immune to it.
  • Crippling Castration: Subverted with Alucard — when he first met Luna and started flirting with her in his own eccentric way, she shot his nuts off. Being Alucard, he just had them reattached and went after her to flirt again.
  • Crossover Relatives: Alucard of Hellsing Ultimate Abridged is the husband of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic's Princess Luna and father of the same series' Scootaloo.
  • Daddy's Girl: Scootaloo. Alucard's quirks don't faze her in the least, they're just part of his being her daddy.
  • Doting Parent: Alucard, of all beings, is one to Scootaloo. He makes is quite clear how much he adores her and sees to it her every need and whim is fulfilled.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Alucard is a crazed psychotic and proud of it but he dearly loves his wife and daughter with all his undead heart.
  • Happily Married: Alucard and Luna. For all that Alucard's antics drive Luna up the wall it's clear that the two have a loving marriage and even Celestia acknowledges that.
  • Interspecies Romance: Luna's an alicorn, her husband Alucard's a vampire and former human.
  • Killed Offscreen: Integra was drained by Seras, who'd finally had enough of her, some time after the first chapter.
  • Mistaken for Romance: A variant in that it's the person involved making the mistake. Seras Victoria, when she comes to Equestria, had assumed Alucard was flirting with her all those years and is her only real chance at having a love life in this new world. She is most dismayed when she finally learns that the sire relationship is a parent-child one.
  • Mythology Gag: When Alucard summons Schrodinger to become Scootaloo's pet, he excitedly realizes he's in Equestria and declares that Rip van Winkle can suck it because his methods for getting there (suicide) turned out to be correct. In the abridged series, it was briefly mentioned that van Winkle was obsessed with the "Winter Wrap-Up" song from MLP in the past.
  • Obnoxious In-Laws: Celestia and Alucard do not like each other and both are openly blunt about that fact. Alucard wasn't exactly happy that Celestia tried to put a pregnant Luna in a "suitable marriage" and literally planted her halfway through the wall when he caught up with them. As for Celestia it's hard to say whether Alucard's normal behavior rankles her or if he actively acts worse just to tweak her.
  • Papa Wolf: Want to cut down your life expectancy? Just mess with Scootaloo and let Alucard find out. He actually offered to kill Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon and still went out of his way to make them miserable because of what they've done to Scootaloo.
  • Related in the Adaptation: In this setting, Princess Luna is Scootaloo's birth mother.
  • Super Cell Reception: In the very first chapter, after awakening for good, Alucard finds that his cell phone still gets reception even when he's in another dimension... though he's extremely irritated by this, since the caller turns out to be someone he never wanted to hear from again.
  • Take That!: Not even Alucard's mind-control powers can make someone say that The Twilight Saga is good, let alone the best romance story of all time.
  • Took a Level in Badass: While she's still not at Alucard's level, Seras managed to either slaughter or intimidate pretty much every vampire, werewolf, and other creature of the night, decimate the Iscariot Organization, and kill Integra while he was gone.
  • Weakened by the Light: Scootaloo, being the daughter of two beings of darkness, would have died from exposure to sunlight. Nightmare Moon tried to bring about Eternal Night in order to give herself time to figure out a solution (which is what got her banished to the moon); Alucard soon found a spell that gave her her canon appearance while protecting her from the sun's rays. Celestia later permanently solves the problem by giving Scootaloo her blessing, making her immune to harm by sunlight and thus ultimately subverting the trope.
