Crimson Raven
combines Total Drama and Umineko: When They Cry. Written by ShugoJess0312, it is about a boy named Yukio Arakawa (an alternate version of Noah) who enters high school as a first year student. During his first day of school, Yukio meets a boy named Kanon Shimomura (an alternate version of Kanon.), who originally came from Rokkenjima. When one of the Elite Sorcerers and his partner descend upon Earth, Yukio has a chance encounter with Kanon, and transforms into one of the legendary warriors known as Animal Warriors.
This story provides examples of:
- 10-Minute Retirement: Yukio in episode ???, due to losing his powers as the Raven Warrior during his fight against Ayato Naoi due to his guilt of kicking Makoto out of Team Raven in the previous episode. He bounces right back in order to help a student who, in a twist on the usual outcome of this trope, turns out to be Nui in disguise, who promptly defeats Ryuko and tears up Senketsu.
- Achilles in His Tent: After Yukio completely loses his confidence due to losing his powers as an Animal Warrior during his fight with Naoi because of his guilt of kicking Makoto out of Team Raven after Itsuki returned in episode ???, he spends his time moping in his room. Eventually he changes his mind with a little persuasion from his team.
- And Then John Was a Zombie: The Elite Sorcerers turn anyone with emotional issues into monsters by taking their grief seeds away and turning the victim's lifeless body into an empty husk. They get better after being purified by Animal Warriors.
- Cool and Unusual Punishment: Manitoba's forced by Mal to wrangle Itsuki's old, happy dreams and set them on fire.
- Dead Fic: The last update was in June 2011.
- Evil Costume Switch: After taking over Itsuki and Joining The Pack, Mal changes his outfit from Itsuki's school uniform to a dark colored attire.
- Fast Tunnelling: As part of his treasure hunting schtick, Manitoba is an extremely efficient digger.
- Heroic BSoD:
- Yukio finds himself in a funk throughout the first half of the Ayato Naoi arc after losing his powers as an Animal Warrior because of his grief of kicking Makoto out of Team Raven after Itsuki returned after Mal's demise, fearful of seeing him again. He recovers from it in episode ???, when he realizes that his friends were in danger.
- After Kanami is brainwashed and taken away by Deadseeker, Itsuki becomes depressive, even when going outside home.
- Heroic RRoD: Tatsuya, in his rage against Van Kleiss, pushes his magical power too far it overloads, causing him to use his Battle Aura incorrectly. The results are...not pretty.
- Our Souls Are Different: When a Grief Seed is taken away, the soul is trapped inside it. Also the soul after being purified by an Animal Warrior take form of the victim's physical form before taking form of a Hitodama Light after thanking the Animal Warrior who purified him/her.
- Paint It Black: Itsuki's armor, leggings and armbands from his armor undergarment from his Lemur form turn much darker after Mal takes over Itsuki after drinking all of Van Kleiss' potion and turns into the Lemur Warrior.
- Power Makes Your Hair Grow: Downplayed. When transforming into his Animal Form, Yasuhiro's hair, while remaining short, grows quite longer with a pair of sidetails.
- Reincarnation: Mal has become this of the previous Lemur Warrior, Kitsu Nesaru's alternate personality, Vlad after Itsuki drank Van Kleiss' potion that was made with the pieces of Vlad's soul and some of his blood.
- Stepford Smiler: Kitsu is a combination of Types A and C, since his cheery attitude is actually a facade to hide his grief over his parents' deaths, and suffers of Multiple Personality Disorder, which is a mental illness.
- Verbal Tic: For Vito, "Eh Yo!" ("Oi Oi!" in the original Japanese version.) at the start of each sentence.
