Copycat Cops It

This fanfiction series contains examples of:
- Alternate Universe Fic: A What If? with the change that Copycat takes the ring from Chat Noir himself rather than suggesting that Ladybug do it. (He realizes that setting up Dramatic Irony is pointless and that it would be safer to have the Miraculous under his own control).
- Bittersweet Ending: Copycat is defeated, and gives up of his own free will. Unfortunately, Adrien breaks up his friendship with Marinette and implies that he's doing the same for Ladybug and Chat.
- Didn't Think This Through: Breaking into someone's locker, stealing their phone, and trying to hack into it because you were embarassed about a phone call is a really great way to break up a friendship.
- Related, Marinette attempting to salvage it when Adrien hears the message by suggesting that they use it for a jumping-off point for a real relationship is soundly rejected- it just makes her look worse.
- Heel–Face Turn: Copycat is persuaded to turn against Hawk Moth with the revelation that Ladybug is underage.
- Karma Houdini: Averted. Marinette does not get away with stealing Adrien's phone. It causes a severe friendship break-up, and a Downer Ending.
- The Unmasking: Chat Noir's secret identity is revealed to Ladybug and Hawk Moth.
- What the Hell, Hero?: Adrien tells Marinette off for stalking him, stealing his phone, and breaking into it.
- A Wizard Did It: Copycat's trap to handcuff Chat Noir is explained with a super-power to make inanimate objects copy actions.
