Children of Elm Street: A Nightmare Tale

Set in the mid-2010s, after the events of Freddy vs. Jason, the fic follows Taylor King as she moves to Springwood from New Jersey, taking up residence in 1428 Elm Street and becoming embroiled in the fight against Freddy Krueger.

- Break the Cutie: Amy was left badly scarred and permanently traumatized after an experience with Freddy, and is shown having hallucinations of him even before he attacks.
- Crossover: Aside from mentions of Freddy vs. Jason, there's also a minor one with Evil Dead; Taylor has a photo of herself with her friends from Forest Green outside of S-Mart.
- Eye Scream: Amy is completely blind in her left eye after being slashed by Freddy.
- Fire Keeps It Dead: In chapter 14, Jake goes to the boiler room where they last fought Freddy, salting his remains and then burning them in an effort to keep him down for good. It fails; as Cameron informs him two chapters later, he needed everything that Freddy had on him when he died... including his original remains.
- Good Scars, Evil Scars:
- Jake possesses multiple small scars on his hands and face from fights with Freddy.
- Amy possesses heavy facial scars from one of Freddy's attacks, and is blind in her left eye.
- Locked Out of the Loop: Jake and his friends initially make sure to keep Taylor in the dark about Freddy, knowing that he feeds on fear and if she doesn't know about Freddy, then she can't fear him. She ends up finding out the full story after Cameron's death in chapter 21.
- Parental Abandonment: Taylor's parents died before the events of the fic, and she was taken in by her aunt and uncle. While the official story is that they died in a car clash, Taylor realizes after looking at the bodies that they were killed by Jason Voorhees.
- Two Siblings In One: As revealed in the third interlude, Shelby contains the soul of her deceased twin sister Tory, who was killed by Freddy when the two were six. While Tory's soul was initially trapped within Freddy's body, when he attacked Shelby several years later, she fought back and entered Shelby's body, driving him off; ever since, the two have shared Shelby's body. While Shelby retains control most of the time, Tory takes control while they sleep.
