Fanfic / Calamity Witches

Go To

Calamity Witches is a crossover series between Amphibia and The Owl House in which, in the climax of "True Colors", Anne and the Plantars are sent through the portal... but not to Earth. Instead, they end up in Eda's nest at the Owl House the night after the failed petrification ceremony. Now, trapped in a whole new world, the found family must do their best to survive and find their way back to Earth to stop Andrias, alongside Luz, Eda, King, and the rest of their new companions.

  • Adaptational Badass: Thanks to training from Principal Bump, Anne starts getting a handle on her Calamity powers earlier than in canon, building up stamina with them enough that she isn't totally exhausted after a brief use.
  • Bloodier and Gorier: Unlike the show, this story averts Bloodless Carnage when Marcy is stabbed.
  • Bloodless Carnage: Averted, unlike in canon, when Marcy is stabbed by Andrias the blade is explicitly covered with her blood.
  • Color-Coded Wizardry: When Anne uses a light glyph, she finds that it turns the same blue as her Calamity powers instead of the usual golden yellow.
  • History Repeats:
    • Just like Luz, Anne gushes over how cute King is and sweeps him off his feet to cuddle him when they first meet. King and Luz both lampshade it.
    • When Anne first uses her Calamity powers when in the Isles to save Sprig from Boscha, it's suggested that they're a "human thing", only for another human (Luz in this case) to say that they aren't.
  • In Spite of a Nail: Despite Anne intimidating the bounty demon into paying the group properly, the girls and King still decide to go after the Selkidomus.
  • Point of Divergence: The crux of the story is that, at the climax of "True Colors", Anne and the Plantars are sent into the Owl House the night after the petrification ceremony in "Young Blood Old Souls" instead of back to Earth.
    • Thanks to Anne being present, the demon shopkeeper is intimidated into properly paying the Owl House crew for their bounties.
  • Synchronous Episodes: The way the story is set up implies that "True Colors" and "Young Blood, Old Souls" took place at about the same time.
  • Wrong-Name Outburst: When threatening Boscha with her Calamity powers to save Sprig, Anne calls her Sasha.
  • You Remind Me of X: After being introduced to Boscha and witnessing her Alpha Bitch attitude, Anne can't help but be reminded of Sasha, especially after her recent betrayal, contributing to the above Wrong-Name Outburst.
