CLINE: Storm Warning is a one-shot story that occurs on the Coreline Shared Universe. Introducing the New York Branch of The Champions, it focuses on them as they struggle to prevent a monstrous hurricane from ripping apart the city.

Currently under construction. Please add tropes as you see them!

This story has the following Tropes:

  • A Storm Is Coming: Very literally (a hurricane that is the most powerful recorded to date, at that).
  • Big Bad: Weather Wizard.
  • Chekhov's Gun: When the Champions head out to confront Weather Wizard, Katara notices that Korra only has five Pokeballs. Turns out that her sixth Pokemon is a Pichu she was hiding under her hat.
  • Continuity Nod: The final scene has the Champions checking the case file of the Agni Kai Triad attack that appears on CORELINE: A Terrific Summer's End, which includes the bit of data that the same Time Lord was involved for (still) unknown purposes.
  • Crazy-Prepared: Korra turns out to be this when it's revealed that she hid a Pichu under her hat with the Lightning Rod ability to protect her from Weather Wizard's lightning attacks.
  • Do Not Adjust Your Set: Weather Wizard makes his demands by interfering with the television signals of all channels. Unfortunately for him, 1) he kind of forgot on providing instructions on how to be contacted back, let alone how to provide the money he demands (however, he discusses that it probably would have given up his hand too early and allowed for people to set a trap for him) and 2) The Champions are able to triangulate his location (because among other things such a stunt needed a lot of power and a specific location for it to work) and are kicking down the door several hours afterwards.
  • Mecha-Mooks: The Foot Soldiers.
  • Not Me This Time: Among other inquiries that The Champions did to try to find the source of (and a way to stop) the hurricane, Katara visited Olympus. While the Real Life Classical Mythology (and other fictional versions of it, such as the DC Universe) has the Greek Gods being Jerkass enough to destroy the Eastern Seaboard in such a fashion for any reason, they explicitly tell Katara that this is not their doing.
  • Outside-Context Problem: When the Champions manage to track down Weather Wizard, they soon find out that he's protected by an army of Foot Soldiers.
    • Zig-Zagged Trope when the Weather Wizard makes his demands: the response of the Champions essentially is "Uh, no wonder the storm is acting so weird" and plan to kick his ass. It's the final discovery of the story, that the Weather Wizard got himself a power boost via Time Lord gadgetry that was willingly supplied by an unknown Time Lord, that surprises them.
  • Sequel Hook: The renegade Time Lord manages to gather a bit of gear from the weather machine and escape scoff-free. The Champions are left with the question of what does he wants.
  • Skewed Priorities: Katara accuses the Champions' boss, Sylia Stingray, of this. Because of the sheer number of their branch members currently working to safeguard places of interest to Stingray Industries, only four members of the Champions are available to fight Weather Wizard.
  • Worf Effect: One of the things the Champions do to try and stop the incoming hurricane is send out their version of Storm. She isn't even able to weaken the hurricane in the slightest.
  • You Shall Not Pass!: Katara pulls this trope on the Foot Soldiers to allow the rest of the team to deal with Weather Wizard. Considering that this version of Katara has the powers of Wonder Woman, her victory was not totally unexpected.
