In another universe Master Fu had no time to freely choose the holder of Ladybug miraculous, so he had to settle for a snarky blonde that bumped into him. And that's how Chloé Bourgeois, the bratty mayor's daughter becomes the superheroine Scarlet Luck and defends together with Chat Noir. Instead of love at first sight, this duo keeps bickering instead.

Bickering and more bickering contains examples of:
- Alpha Bitch: At the beginning, both Chloé and Scarlet Luck fit this trope perfectly. Scarlet treats Chat poorly, seeing him as nothing but an annoying sidekick, and trashes him verbally. She also does not respect Master Fu and initially refuses to help Marinette even when she is in danger because of the akuma.
- Battle Couple: Many characters think that the two heroes of Paris are romantically involved. In reality, even the very thought of it disgusts both Chat and Scarlet; they barely tolerate each other at the beginning.
- Defrosting Ice Queen: Eventually Scarlet accepts Chat Noir as her partner but still has a hard time growing up as a person. Still, by the end of season two, she has made significant progress.
- Spiritual Antithesis: To the Scarlet Lady series. Both feature Chloé getting the ladybug's earrings and having a rocky relationship with Chat Noir. But instead of being a villain protagonist who only loves the fame, in this work, she is dedicated to the hero cause and slowly becomes a better person.
- Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: Chat Noir and Scarlet Luck barely tolerate each other, so no wonder they don't make a very effective duo; their bickering amidst battle amuses akumas and leads to a lot of hurt. Still, they manage every time to set up their differences for a moment and find a way to defeat Monster of the Week.
- Took a Level in Badass: Unlike her civilian alter ego and unlike most fanfics featuring Chloé as Ladybug, Scarlet Luck is neither lazy nor an incompetent heroine. She is a competent fighter and good at finding smart ways to defeat akumas as the original Ladybug.
