Beyond Death

After crash landing on Earth, Thanos is taken in by a local school teacher. After recuperating, he attempts to kill her, but is forced to rethink his plans after she accidentally merges with the Tesseract. Over time, he finds his feelings towards her changing - but neither one is prepared for the events that lie ahead.

- Alternate Universe Fic: After a while, it becomes clear that neither the Snap or Thanos' death will occur in this fic.
- Anti-Hero: Thanos eventually develops into one.
- Bait-and-Switch: Takhan contacts Thanos to let him know he has something precious to the Titan. Initially, it seems like he's referring to Layla, but he then reveals that he's actually talking about the Tesseract.
- Berserk Button: Attacking or insulting Layla becomes this for Thanos.
- For Want Of A Nail: If Layla hadn't gotten fused with the Tesseract, Thanos would have killed her and the story would have been over by Chapter 3.

- Magical Boyfriend: Thanos becomes this for Layla.

- Second Love: Layla serves as this to Thanos after he's rejected by Death once and for all.
- Super-Strength: The Power Stone blesses its users with this.
