The Ben Folds Series is a trio of fanfictions by Perpetual Motion. They are set in an alternate version of the Second Wizading War and its aftermath, focusing on Percy Weasley. During the war, he runs a safe house, keeping members of the Order of the Phoenix on their feet.

- Adaptational Heroism: Pansy Parkinson, Blaise Zabini, and Draco Malfoy are all working for the Order.
- Alternate Universe: The war takes longer this time around. Different characters live and die, and there's a very different ending.
- Broken Masquerade: At the end of the War, due to the high Muggle casualties.
- Deadpan Snarker: Perhaps as a coping mechanism, Percy has become this.
- Draco is similarly snarky.
- Disabled in the Adaptation: As a result of a Jelly-arm curse and a Cruciatus curse in quick succession, Percy's right arm has been left with severe tremors. Sometimes he can barely use it. It's why he's not in the field, but running a safehouse.
- Death by Adaptation: Katie Bell. Also Pansy and Blaise.
- Heroic Self-Deprecation: Percy is prone to this by now, not realizing just how important his efforts are to the other heroes.
- I Have Your Wife: Justin is forced to reveal a safehouse of Percy's after the Death Eaters capture his parents. Even though he does what they ask him to, they kill the parents.
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: What Draco has developed into.
- The Medic: Draco. Yes, really!
- The Mole: Blaise and Pansy have both infiltrated the Death Eaters.
- Briefly, Justin, though he had good reasons.
- Non-Action Guy: Percy, as a result of previously-sustained injuries.
- Reverse Cerebus Syndrome: The series gradually lightens up as it goes.
- Slash Fic: Percy/Oliver Wood is the main couple.
- A throwaway line suggests that Draco and Charlie are a couple as well.
- So Proud of You: Arthur delivers a short speech of this nature to Percy after he's been rescued.
- Spared by the Adaptation: Fred, Tonks, and Lupin, among others.
