Ben:X
is a Ben 10 fanfiction written by TheHolyHeretic.
Ben, Gwen and Kevin go to an alternate universe where they meet a different version of Ben, a version that is older, more powerful, and possibly more evil than anyone or anything they've ever encountered.
The story provides examples of:
- Adaptational Badass: Whereas young Ben was a foolhardy bumbler, alt-Ben went on to not only conquer Earth, but other planets for good measure.
- Heel–Face Turn: The alt-Vilgax was originally as evil as in canon, but after his planet was wiped out, he quickly abandoned his desires to be a conqueror and decided to fight against alt-Ben.
- Hesitation Equals Dishonesty: Kevin weighing in on a response to Gwen's question about if she's fat makes her annoyed. And his excessive backtracking just aggravates her further.
- Knight Templar: Alt-Ben is willing to brutalize criminals in the name of the greater good.
- Mirror Universe: The alt-Vilgax and alt-Animo come from one. And like all alternate universe counterparts, they're actually good guys.
- Omnicidal Maniac: Alt-Ben, aka X, didn't just conquer Earth, but destroyed other worlds, including Vilgax's.
