Universal Runners: Arcanum Heroes (or Arcanum Heroes for short) is a multi-crossover spin-off fanfic of Universal Runners from the same authors.
Taking place after the events of The Other Side of Arcanum, the spin-off is set in the mysterious plane of Arcanum and follows Samuel Oak in his adventures as a World Detective and the Shadow Twilight, alongside more characters from games, cartoons, TV shows, anime, and OCs, most of whom now work for the Knight's Detective Agency (KDA).
It is covered in two series, the first of which
follows Knights Detective Agency's adventures and cases in 2014. Series two can be found here.
This series provides examples of:
- Ascended Extra: Most of the minor characters from their respective series became KDA members. Most notably, Professor Oak.
- Badass Normal: Mark Ulysses doesn't have powers like the other adults, but can able to make or repair gadget and fight along with his B-Daman.
- Berserk Button: Try to bully Delia's friends or hurt her son and she will burn you - literally.
- Dual Wielding: Oak uses twin swords as his main weapons during non-Pokemon battles.
- Exotic Eye Designs: Oak has a blue left eye with a Psi Greek alphabet and purple right eye] with a Shadow Twilight mark.
- Money Fetish: Dylan is always looking for the opportunity to make a quick buck, even at the most inappropriate times.
- Running Gag: Oak accidentally breaks his Twilight Baton in his Twilight form. Turns out in The Other Side of Arcanum, this was not the first time he broke it.
- Shock and Awe: One of Oak's elements, which can be No-Sell to any electricity he takes.
