Anachronism

Gloria has already gone on her Pokémon journey before, but now she's started it again— literally. After having died, Gloria is sent back two years to when she received her starter. No one but Gloria and her Pokémon remember the past timeline. Gloria remembers it vividly, which makes this second journey all the more painful.
This fanfic provides examples:
- Age Lift: Instead of being ambiguously 11-17, Gloria and her friends are aged up to 18.
- Dark Fic: The character's personalities are depicted more seriously. Hop doesn't take his defeats in stride, Sonia has a lot of issues behind her Desperately Looking for a Purpose in Life, etc.
- Dysfunction Junction: Most of the characters are Stepford Smilers who hide their issues: Gloria has PTSD, Hop hides his feelings of inadequacy and need for support, Sonia is depressed, etc.
- Heroic Sacrifice: In the past timeline, Thievul died taking a blow meant for his trainer Gloria.
- Peggy Sue: Gloria is sent back in time to the start of her journey.
- Stepford Smiler:
- Gloria has a lot of trauma from being sent back in time. Due to the unusual event, she won't tell her friends about it.
- Hop has self-esteem issues and craves comfort from others. This doesn't become apparent until he snaps partway through his journey.
- Sonia feels a useless deadbeat with no purpose, but she usually hides her depression.
- What Beautiful Eyes!: Sonia's green eyes are praised by Gloria more than once.
