    Characters
  • The mysterious dancer, Azura, in the first trailer temporarily gained the nickname of "Dancina" for an extreme resemblance to Lucina. Both characters have blue clothes and waist-length blue hair, though Azura's is much lighter.
    • She was also known as Nainin for resembling Ninian, who is also a dancer and has a similar color palette.
    • Azura's son, Shigure, has been saddled with the nickname of "Mancina", due to filling a similar role to her (tied parent is opposite the gender of children-bearing parents, and always has his mother's hair color).
  • Since their announcement in Super Smash Bros., Corrin has been known as "Corn" by the community, name which later saw its way into Fates.
  • Ryoma, a red-clad samurai seen in the first trailer who had no name until months after its release when the second trailer clarified it, was called "Lobster Lord" in some circles, thanks to a tumblr post.
    • This is so widespread that if you go to your favorite search engine and look up Big Brother Lobster, a picture of Ryoma will be one of the first images to pop up.
    • This one got so big that it was even referenced in the English version, with Orochi teasing Ryoma by saying he looks like a lobster.
  • Camilla of Nohr has been nicknamed by some as "Titties Nee-chan", due to the, umm... emphasis certain scenes in the trailer put on her bust. Additionally, due to the appearance of "Loyalty" showing up in the trailer with Camilla doing a Supermodel Strut with plenty of bouncing, the term "Loyalty" has been used as a byword for breasts in the Fire Emblem fandom.
  • Additionally, several Japanese-honorific based nicknames came about for some of the siblings: Lobster Nii-san (Ryoma), Sexy Nii-san (Xander), Thighs nee-chan (Hinoka) and Staffmouto (Sakura).
    • Ryoma also gets called the English equivalent, "Lobster Bro," sometimes.
  • Leo from Nohr was nicknamed Blond Marth prior to the reveal of his name, due to the fact that, well, he looks like Marth, but blond. He's also been called Blarth (for the same reason), with the obligatory Paul Blart: Mall Cop jokes.
  • Arthur was nicknamed Gaston when he first appeared due to his Miles Gloriosus-looking appearance. His red, white and blue color scheme and nature as a superhero pastiche also lead to Captain Nohr / "Gaston America" comments.
  • The Power Trio of Laslow, Selena, and Odin, after a certain reveal about their origins as Inigo, Severa and Owain , have quickly become "Laswinigo"/"Iniswald", "Lunavera"/"Seveluna/"Sevelena" and "Odinwain"/"Owaindin".
    • Additionally, they, along with the the other expy characters are often referred to as "Literally [Character]", with the exception of Hayato, who's usually called "Not Literally Ricken".
  • Sigurd 2.0 for Flora.
    • The same reason for the nickname has also led to people shipping both Sigurd and Flora together.
  • The Killager for Mozu.
  • In general, the characters with Dub Name Changes are still referred by their Japanese names (Kamui for Corrin, Aqua for Azura, etc.) by some due to habit. Some however, do this because their names are just downright weird (Matoi for Caeldori and Syalla for Rhajat being the most common).
  • "Mamui" and "Femui" are usually-used nicknames for the male and female Avatar.
    • Additionally, the female Avatar being called "Corinne" has been on the rise.
  • "Critkumi" or "Killkumi" for Takumi, mainly because of his solid growth rates, his solid base starting stats, and his Game-Breaker Fujin Yumi.
    • "Pineapple Bro" for Takumi also seems to be making its way around tumblr, likely due to the shape of his hair (and possibly due to his prickly nature).
    • He also gets called "Taco meat", based on the intentional mangling of his name's pronunciation.
    • When reclassed to the DLC Ballistician class, he's known as "Tankumi".
  • "Backpack loli" for Midori from GameFAQs, due to her large backpack she always wear on her back. Also "drug dealer loli" due to her specialization in medicine. Another popular nickname for Midori from GameFAQs is "Weedoriko".
  • "Hinokopter" for Hinoka, due to her boss fight cutscene having her leap in the air and spin her lance so fast, she briefly stays afloat.
  • Elise is called "cinnamon rolls" or "bread sticks", thanks to the shape of her pigtails. The fact that one of Arthur's supports mentions him once mistaking one of them for bread and trying to eat it helps.
  • "Garondorf" for Garon, due to his remarkable resemblance in both name and appearance to Twilight Princess' Ganondorf.
  • "The Chump Brigade" for the team of Odin, Niles, Laslow and Peri when they join you in Revelation, due to how grossly weak and underleveled they are when you first get them.
  • Peri has been nicknamed "delicious" or "cotton candy lady". If this needs explaining: look at her hair colors.
  • Hisame is often known simply as "Pickles" due to the (well-liked) Flanderization of his love of pickles in the Localization.
  • Subaki has often been saddled with the nicknames of "Dudelia" or "Mandelia", due to being essentially a Gender Flip of Cordelia from Fire Emblem: Awakening.
  • The obvious rhyme of "Charlotte the Harlotte" has not escaped the fans. Yes, it's usually spelt that way as well.
  • Thanks to her headband, stealth tactics, and singleminded focus on her missions, Beruka is often called Solid Snake.
  • Reina is often referred to as Sky MILF, due to her Old Maid status.
  • Soleil is often called "Lesbian Inigo" due to being essentially a Gender Flip of her father Inigo, with essentially the same weakness for girls and love of flirting with them. Another one is "Inigette".
  • In a case of Hilarious in Hindsight, Benoit was often called Benny by fans.... and then it turned out to be his actual name in the Localization.
  • Super Denning for the Final Boss of Conquest, since it is actually a sniper.
  • Hinata was often jokingly called "Stealth Bara Bait" due to his Viewer Gender Confusion at first.
  • Silas is endearingly referred to as "Brolas", especially by those playing as a male Avatar, due to his Undying Loyalty to them and their status as Childhood Friends. For those playing as a female Avatar and intend to marry him, "Baelas" is used as an alternative.
    • The ninja Kaze is often called "Broze" for similar reasons.
  • "The Big Titty Committee" as a collective nickname for Camilla, Charlotte, Kagero and Orochi. It started from a picture with Kagero's sprite with the text "I'm unfortunately on the big titty committee..?" with Camilla, Charlotte and Orochi smiling at her.
  • A (very spoileriffic) CG from the Heirs of Fate DLC showed that Xander's son Siegbert was apparently quite taller than the players expected him to be. It shows Siegbert as being almost as tall as his father, who also happens to be one of the tallest men in the whole castnote ... and since Siegbert's still a teenager, this means he might end up growing even taller. The fandom has almost immediately started to run away with it, cue him being nicknamed "Tallbert".
  • Leo tends to get called either "Book Bro" (for obvious reasons), or sometimes "Tomato Bro" (due to tomatoes being his Trademark Favorite Food).
  • Conquest Lunatic Chapter 23 has a capturable generic Master of Arms who comes with Rally Speed, Rally Strength, Rally Resistance and Rally Defense. He has been dubbed "Rallyman" and "Matsuoka Shuzo" because of his pose and resemblance to said person. Plenty of jokes were made.
    • Similarly, if Nina's Paralogue is done before Chapter 22 of either Conquest or Revelations, a generic knight at the bottom left corner will have no equipable weapons. The fandom immediately dubbed him "Corner Knight, Champion of Peace".
  • Caeldori often gets called "Riceload" on GameFAQs due to people noticing that it was another possible anagram for Cordelia.
    • Similarly, fans came up with their own anagrams for Gaius' and Tharja's Expies before their official names were announced. Asugi was commonly called Usagi, and Rhajat was usually called Jartha.
  • Sonic for Kaden, due to having similar voices and Kaden having a high Speed growth.
  • Odin is often called "Magic Odin", which is both a nod to his class-change between Awakening and Fates and his blatantly Stripperific Dark Mage outfit that makes it look like he came straight out of a Magic Mike movie.
  • Corrin is called Arceus because their dragon form is much too similar to the God Pokémon be a coincidence.

    Other
  • The entire game as a whole is commonly referred to as "Fire Emblem: Custody Battle".
  • While Awakening gets it to a lesser extent this game is known as "Waifu Emblem" among detractors and self-deprecating fans alike for the Hotter and Sexier designs, face-rubbing mechanic, and the romance options utilizing the Not Blood Siblings trope that's more commonly seen in series aimed at otaku audiences.
  • The setting of the game encompassing both Hoshido and Nohr has been dubbed "Fateslandia" as it is so far the only unnamed continent in the series.
    • "Nohrshido" / "Hoshinohr" also get tossed around on tumblr occasionally.
    • "Nolore" also pops up, due to the thin worldbuilding.
  • The face-rubbing mechanic in MyCastle earned the nickname Fire Emblem Amie not too long after the MyCastle announcement.
  • "Imouto Emblem" pops up as well, mainly due the strong appeal of Elise and Sakura.
  • To take it a step further, due to the HIGHLY suggestive if not blatantly lewd sounding translations of the S support skinships, the game had been promptly nicknamed "Hentai Emblem".
  • The Deeprealms (the justification for the Second Generation units) are known as "Hyperbolic Time Chamber", "The Babyrealms", "The Baby Void", or "The Puberty Void".
  • Some fans have semi-jokingly/semi-derisively nicknamed the One Game for the Price of Two nature of Fates as Fire Emblem Fates: Black And White. Others refer to it as (the slightly more correct) Fire Emblem Fates: Oracle of Birthright and Fire Emblem Fates: Oracle of Conquest.
  • This is more directly a nickname of certain sects of the fans, but some have taken to calling those who S Support with Flora/Felicia as "Maid fuckers". Surprisingly, the obvious one for Jakobnote  is rarely used, if all.
  • "Asshole Reinforcements" for the reinforcements that appear behind your army, especially at the start of the Stage. Some give their own nickname for the Asshole Reinforcements who don't even give you experience.
  • Characters who are only allowed to S Support with the Avatar are known as "Corrinsexuals" or "Kamuisexuals".
  • Conquest Chapter 17 is the "Ninja Rape Cave", due to the fact that it's filled with the debuff-inflicting Ninjas, Master Ninjas, and Mechanists.
  • "Mr. Fuga's Wild Ride" for Conquest Chapter 20, thanks to the winds that push your characters around (or your enemies if you use the Dragon Veins). Revelation Chapter 9 is likewise dubbed "The Return of Mr. Fuga's Wild Ride" or "Mr. Fuga's Mild Ride".
  • Conquest Chapter 23 is "The Great Wall of Takumi", as Takumi will defend the Great Wall of Suzanoh until his last breath against the Nohrian army.
  • Hoshido is occasionally referred to as "Glorious Nippon" for their Story Branch Favoritism in the Japanese version of the game, though mostly in a tongue-in-cheek manner.
