Dragon Age: Origins

  • "Then...go, pup. Warn your brother, and know that we love you both. You do us proud." Bryce Cousland, Human Noble Origin. The future Warden is forced to abandon him and Eleanor Cousland to their deaths, as Bryce is grievously wounded and cannot come with them. He and Eleanor are later executed by Arl Rendon Howe.
  • "Goodbye, darling." Eleanor Cousland, Human Noble Origin. She shares the same fate as Bryce.
  • "Bah! I always regret talking to knife-ears! Now, I'll just gut your ignorant carcasses!" Vaughan Kendells, City Elf Origin, if you choose to kill him.
  • "We shall see..." The Rage Demon of the Harrowing, Circle Mage Origin, in response to Mouse saying he doesn't need to bargain with it. In the resulting fight, the future Warden and Mouse defeat the demon.
  • "What in sod-all is that doing out of its cage? Let's teach this little duster a lesson." Beraht, Dwarf Commoner Origin, before engaging the future Warden in a fight that ends with his death.
    • "What in sod-all is that doing out of its cage? Come on, boys. The little whore needs to learn her place." Beraht, if the Dwarf Commoner is female.
  • "Then you will die here. May the Stone reject your unworthy, treacherous body. Kill the traitors!" Prince Trian Aeducan, Dwarf Noble Origin, if you decide earlier on that you must fight him to stop his plan to assassinate you.
  • "Maybe we'll die. Maybe we'll all die. If nobody stops the darkspawn, we'll die for sure." Daveth. During the Joining ritual, he fails to survive drinking the darkspawn blood, resulting in his death.
  • "N-No, you ask too much! T-There is no glory in this!" Ser Jory. In reaction to Daveth's death, he pulls a sword, forcing Duncan to kill him.
  • "For Ferelden!" King Cailan. In the ensuing battle, he is grabbed by a darkspawn ogre and crushed within its grasp.
  • "We done heard what was said. You're a Warden. I don't know if you did kill King Cailan, and Maker forgive me, I don't care. But that bounty on your head could feed a lotta hungry families. Attack!" A desperate refugee, who only appears if you recruit Leliana.
  • "And you think you can kill me, like that? I made you, Leliana. I can destroy you just as easily!" Marjolaine, if you convince Leliana that she has to die.
  • "It is a dance old Flemeth knows well. Let us see if she remembers the steps. Come, she will earn what she takes. I'd have it no other way." Flemeth, if you choose to kill her at Morrigan's behest. She comes back to life in the next game.
  • "You wish to battle me? So be it. You will learn to bow to your betters, mortal!" The Sloth Demon who trapped you in the Fade.
    • "No more games... face me, and die!" The Sloth Demon's actual last words, battle dialogue said as he is forced into his true form.
  • "Fight, if you must. It will just make my victory all the sweeter." Uldred, who unleashes the pride demon within him to fight the Warden, only to be killed.
  • "Then you will do it? You will end the curse?" The Lady of the Forest/Witherfang, if you defeat Zathrian and convince him to end the werewolf curse.
  • "Yes, I think it is time. Let us... let us put an end to it all." Zathrian, in response to the Lady of the Forest. He ends his own life to break the curse.
  • "Kill them! But leave the mouthy/pretty one alive, I have plans for him/her." Jarvia, who is killed by the Warden's party after the latter having slaughtered her entire Carta.
  • "Bah! You are not the only master smith here, Caridin! Golems! Obey me! Attack!" Branka, if you decide the Anvil of the Void must be destroyed. In response, she uses a Golem Control Rod to control some of Caridin's golems, but is killed in the ensuing fight.
    • "Go. Return to Orzammar. It's better they never know what became of me." Branka, if you side with her and convince her that the Anvil of the Void is an abomination. After destroying the Anvil, she commits suicide by walking off the cliffside into a river of lava below.
  • "You have my eternal thanks, stranger. Atrast nal tunsha. May you always find your way in the dark." Caridin, if you help him destroy the Anvil of the Void. After it is destroyed, Caridin commits suicide and drops himself into the river of lava (same as Branka if she is convinced the Anvil must be destroyed).
  • "You would let a surfacer decide the fate of the dwarves?!?" Prince Bhelen Aeducan, if you choose Pyral Harrowmont as king. He stages a coup, only to be killed by the Warden and their companions.
  • "Alas, that is sad. Very well, then. If you wish a battle... you will have it. Let us see if your power matches your boldness, creature." The Desire Demon possessing Connor, if you choose to kill her in the Fade.
  • "To arms, my brethren! Andraste will grant us... victory!" Father Kolgrim, if you choose to defy the Cult of Andraste.
  • "Always...loved you...Lethallin..." Tamlen, if the player is a female Dalish Elf and made the right dialogue choices in the prologue.
  • "Oh? Does Zevran need to live?" Taliesin, in response to the Warden telling him that Zevran doesn't need the Antivan Crows any longer, with Zevran agreeing with the Warden and choosing to fight his old friend. The ensuing battle results in Taliesin and his group of assassins being killed by the Warden and Zevran.
  • "Maker spit on you... I... deserved... more!" Arl Rendon Howe, who is killed by the Warden and his allies in their bid to rescue Queen Anora.
  • "Bring them down! Loghain wants the Warden dead or alive! Ser Cauthrien, if you choose not to surrender for killing Howe.
    • "I can end the threat you pose to Ferelden right now. To arms, men!" Cauthrien, if you initiate a confrontation with her at the Landsmeet.
  • "Just make it quick, Warden. I can face the Maker, knowing that Ferelden is in your hands." Teyrn Loghain Mac Tir, if he is executed at the Landsmeet.
    • "So, there is some of Maric in you after all. Good." Loghain, if you choose Alistair to duel him. Immediately after the duel, Alistair executes him.
    • "Please, I have done... so much wrong. Allow me to do one last thing right." Loghain, if he was made a Grey Warden, kills the Archdemon, and didn't partake in Morrigan's ritual.
  • "You say that as though I'm giving you a choice." Alistair, in the event that Morrigan's ritual was rejected and Loghain was killed. This is said to a female Warden when she tells him she won't let him die.
    • "Sanest thing I've ever done." Alistair, same scenario as above if the player selects the "Wait! This is crazy!" option.

Leliana's Song DLC

  • "Heh... you Orlesian Bards are tougher than I thought... but... I still remember when you were simply a scared little girl in my cell!" Commander Harwen Raleigh. He gets knocked off the cliff he's standing on by either Leliana or Silas.

Dragon Age: Awakening

  • "You will have to forgive me, Commander, for fighting to preserve my destiny." The Architect, if you choose to fight him.
  • "Perhaps we will hear the song again when we die. Oh, let it come! Let it come!" The Mother, who is killed by the Warden-Commander in their fight.

Dragon Age II

  • "Maker give me strength!" Bethany Hawke, if Hawke is a mage. A darkspawn ogre grabs her and smashes her against the ground.
  • "You soulless bastards!" Carver Hawke, if Hawke is a warrior or rogue. He is killed by the ogre instead of Bethany.
  • "Thank you." Ser Wesley, dying from the darkspawn corruption. His response to Hawke giving him a Mercy Kill.
    • "Be strong... my love." Wesley, if Aveline is the one to Mercy Kill him.
  • "Now, it's fading! ...why do you look at me like that?" Karl Thekla, begging Anders to Mercy Kill him as he has been made Tranquil. Anders complies and stabs him.
  • "Kill the vessels only if you must!" Tarohne, the blood mage leader, who is killed by Hawke and his companions.
  • "Shut this buck/bitch up." Danzig, one of the Tevinter slavers involved in taking Feynriel captive. After threatening to sell Hawke's company, he is killed in the ensuing battle.
  • "What do I care what shield they carry? If they challenge us, the dead themselves will answer the call!" Decimus, who attacks Hawke's company on the grounds that they are working for the Templars. He is killed in the ensuing battle.
  • "Righteous, destroy them!" Ser Varnell, if you try to stop him from torturing the Qunari prisoners.
  • "That's right... once you're Tranquil, you'll do anything I ask." Ser Otto Alrik to a female mage named Ella who was trying to escape the Circle. He is killed by Hawke and Anders, the latter taken over by Justice.
  • "No! Please, messere!" Ella, if you fail to talk the Justice-possessed Anders down; out of control, Anders blasts her to the ground and mortally impales her with his staff.
  • "She's not a slave." Hadriana, telling Fenris about his sister, Varania. After interrogating her, Fenris kills her by impaling her with his lyrium-infused forearm.
  • "You don't know what she is! What's she's done! Creators, help me! Someone, please!" Pol, who runs at the sight of Merrill. Without thinking, he runs into the Varterral and is killed before she and Hawke can save him.
  • "You'll let me do it? You'll teach me the secrets of necromancy? I—urk!" Gascard du Puis, if you don't persuade him to rejoin you and Varric is in your party.
    • "Look, I-I know you're upset. But killing me won't bring your mother back." Gascard du Puis, if he survived the above encounter and you decide to kill him.
  • "I've searched far and wide for you, beloved. And nothing on this earth shall part us." Quentin, the deranged blood mage who kidnapped Leandra to reconstruct his dead wife through necromancy. He is killed in the resulting fight.
  • "I love you. You've always made me so proud..." Leandra Hawke. Only being kept alive by Quentin's magic after he grafted her face onto the body he was constructing to "resurrect" his dead wife, she dies after he is killed.
  • "Grand Cleric? Grand Cleric!" Mother Petrice, if you expose her extremist plot to oust the Qunari. A Qunari archer then shoots her in the chest, then in the head.
  • "One day... we shall return." The Arishok, if you choose to duel him. After he is killed, the Qunari leave Kirkwall peacefully.
  • "(sigh...) The word is 'master'." Danarius, Fenris' former master, in response to his former slave continuing to call him by name. After he is defeated, Fenris brutally snaps his neck.
  • "Please, don't let him do this. Please, tell him to stop!" Varania, if you allow Fenris to kill her for betraying him. If not stopped, Fenris runs her through with his lyrium-infused forearm.
  • "You always knew your blood magic had a price, da'len. I have chosen to pay it for you. Dareth shiral." Keeper Marethari Talas, who reveals that she allowed the pride demon named Audacity to possess her so he wouldn't use the Eluvian to possess Merrill. Hawke and Merrill are forced to kill her in order to destroy Audacity.
  • "I will not be left with nothing again!" Jeven, the disgraced former Captain of the Guard, who is killed by Hawke and Aveline.
  • "Control yourself!" Ser Thrask, attempting to stop Grace from murdering their hostage, only for her to kill him with her blood magic.
  • "Forget the hostage. Kill the Champion!" Grace, who is killed by Hawke and his companions in the resulting fight.
  • "I'm glad it's you." Anders, if you kill him.
    • "It was nice to be happy...even if only for a little while." Anders, if you kill him and were in a romance with him.
    • "I know. The sooner I die, the sooner my name lives on to inspire generations." Anders, if a friend and not romanced.
    • "I know. You should have done this long ago." Anders, if in a rivalry and not romanced.
  • "But you...I thought...well, it doesn't matter what I thought." Merrill, if she was romanced and then turned on you after siding with the Templars.
    • "How did it come to this? You were my one, true friend." / "But we were never friends, and this argument is pointless. Let it end." / "Let's see how you do, then." Merrill, depending on friendship, rivalry and dialogue choices.
  • "You die or I die. Either way, the story's done." Fenris, if he turned on you after siding with the mages and was not convinced to rejoin Hawke.
  • "Meredith expects blood magic? Then I will give it to her! Maker help us all." First Enchanter Orsino, Mage endgame. He proceeds to use blood magic to turn himself into a Harvester, and is killed in the resulting fight by Hawke.
    • "The Maker has guided you all to your deaths!" Orsino, Templar endgame. Same fate as above.
    • "I'm sorry, child, but true justice demands sacrifice from us all." Orsino, Templar endgame if Bethany became a Circle Mage — apologizing to her before transforming.
  • "I hope this was all worth it, Brother / Sister." Bethany, templar endgame, if she's in the Circle and you let Meredith kill her.
  • "I will... NOT... BE DEFEATED! Maker... aid... your humble servant!" Knight-Commander Meredith Stannard, on the verge of defeat. Having overused her red lyrium-infused greatsword, it explodes and turns Meredith into a statue of red lyrium.

Dragon Age: Inquisition

  • "Go." Divine Justinia V
  • "Time's up." Magister Gereon Alexius from the Bad Future, if you chose to pursue the Mages' help to close the Breach.
  • "Though darkness closes, I am shielded by flame. Andraste, guide me. Maker, take me to your side!" Leliana from the Bad Future, if you chose to pursue the Mages' help to close the Breach.
  • "Nobody knows you like I do, Herald!" The Envy Demon, if you chose to pursue the Templars' help to close the Breach.
  • "What do you mean 'again?' Did the spell work?" Magister Gereon Alexius, should you choose to execute him.
  • "You can't! Not after I survived this long! Don't you see?" Knight-Captain Denam, should you choose to execute him.
  • "You know me. I wanted that promotion." Seeker Daniel
  • "It's going to be all right, my love." Duke Bastien de Ghislain
  • "Light a lamp, would you, Calpernia? Everything's so dark." Magister Erasthenes
  • "The day has come at last. Maker, forgive my sins." Mayor Gregory Dedrick of Crestwood, should you choose to execute him.

    • "Spiders. Always the Maker-damned spiders..." Alternatively, if Hawke was sarcastic or aggressive.
    • "Safe harbors, Isabela." Alternative, if Hawke romanced Isabela.
    • "I'm sorry, Sebastian." Hawke, if she romanced Sebastian.
  • "Petty actions. Truth lies in the next world." Lord Livius Erimond, should you choose to execute him.
  • "My friends, we have lost much. We have each seen a child, a lover, a friend, consigned to the flames. The darkness has closed in around us, but even now there is light. We must be that light. We must lead our people safely through these troubled times. We must be the guiding star. Tonight, the war dividing us must end." Empress Celene Valmont I, if Florianne is allowed to assassinate her.
