  • The Un-Favourite:
    • Tsutsuji was not praised for anything by her parents, though they spoil her little sister Yuzuriha. One time, Yuzuriha skipped field day so that she can play video games, Tsutsuji snapped and slapped her. Ironically their praise of her led Yuzuriha to be a deliquent and she eventually went to juvie. They did all this just so Tsutsuji could be a 'perfect child'.
    • Tokusa was the unfavorite. He was financially abused by his parents while his older brother gets everything. He cut off ties with his parents after being married to Yuri.
    • Akamatsu is abused his parents while his older brother, Hiiragi, gets all the praise. This causes him to hate his family growing up and cut ties with them after he finds his brother dating his girlfriend.
    • Akane was abused by her mother Azami, simply because she didn't want a daughter. Meanwhile, Azami lavished all her love and attention onto her son Tokusa instead. Despite this, Akane didn't let this taint her love for her little brother and continued to act like a kind older sister to him. Tokusa was unaware of his mother's abuse of his sister, but he eventually found out after Akane became delinquent in high school in an attempt to rebel and he read her diary to figure out why his sister seemed to change so suddenly. Naturally, he was horrified and confronted their mother over it.
    • Yuzuriha was treated unfavorably by her mother Azami in favor of her twin sister because she was smart, she later kills her twin sister by pushing her into the river.
  • Universal-Adaptor Cast: The characters of this series all have set names, appearances and base personalities, but each story is self-contained and their roles, relationships and even their ages change from one story to the next.
  • Unnecessarily Cruel Rejection: Back in middle school Tokusa had a crush on Yuzuriha and eventually decided to confess to her. Yuzuriha and her friends laughed at Tokusa for his youthful appearance and short height. To twist the knife further, they told the other students about it, and almost all of them make fun of Tokusa.
  • Unrequited Love Switcheroo: Back in Middle School, Tokusa had a crush on Yuzuriha, but was rejected for looking like a baby. Years later, at a Middle School reunion, Yuzuriha suddenly becomes interested in Tokusa after seeing how much he's grown and hearing he makes a lot of money. At that point, Tokusa had already gotten over her, knowing how horrible she is, and rejects her in favor of Tsutsuji, who he's already engaged to.
  • The Unreveal: Parodied in a TV show where Etra-chan dies before she could say her relation to Hiiragi, which is also followed by a Big "NO!" from him.
  • Unwitting Pawn: Azami is Hiiragi's illegitimate daughter who was tricked by her own father into thinking that her uncle Tachibana was her biological father so he would be able to cover his past affair which conceived her from everyone he knows.

  • Valentine's Day Episode: One episode centers around Yuri knitting a scarf to give to Katsura on Valentines Day. All the other girls also take up knitting when they hear that Hiiragi prefers getting handicrafts for Valentines Day.
  • Valley Girl: Akane speaks like one.
  • Vandalism Backfire: Azami and her friends accused Yuzuriha of spreading COVID to their town. They even go as far as to trash her house while video calling her. However, Yuzuriha revealed she doesn't live in the house anymore and it belonged to her mother Akane and ex-husband Akamatsu. The group was arrested for their crimes while Akane and Akamatsu's affair (which caused Yuzuriha to leave in the first place) was exposed to the public.
  • Vicariously Ambitious: Yuzuriha failed to make the troupe and forced her daughter Karin into it and forbade her from participating in sports. She saw the others, especially Tsutsuji in the troupe as a threat to Karin being the best to the point where she burned Tsutsuji's dress. Fortunately, Yuzuriha apologized for burning the dress, and listened to Karin's feelings. Karin was allowed to join her school's football team.
  • Villain Episode:
    • This episode is another typical story about Akamatsu cheating on his girlfriend... from the perspective of Akamatsu.
    • Yuzuriha is accosted by Akane, who has decided to take up bullying store employees as a hobby after getting bored with domestic life. The story is told from Akane's perspective.
  • Voodoo Doll:
    • Azami goes to a forest in an attempt to put a curse on Akamatsu by putting his photo on a straw doll and stabs both of them with a nail for being a Bad Boss to her.
    • Yuzuriha tries to put a curse on her husband Akamatsu by hitting a straw doll with a hammer near an old temple for cheating on her with another woman. However, Tokusa sees her in the action and tries to hide from her when she notices him. Several years later, Tokusa and Yuzuriha meet again and she tells him that Akamatsu has died from a car accident for driving under the influence, which is allegedly caused by Yuzuriha, who allegedly spiked something in his coffee, and she also spares Tokusa because he liked the coffee she made.

  • Wedding Smashers:
    • Yuzuriha crashes Kuroki and Yuri's wedding and claims to be pregnant with the former's baby; however, this does not fool everyone because they immediately noticed that she stuffed a watermelon under her dress.
    • Akane wears a wedding dress to ruin Yuri and Katsura's wedding in an attempt to steal the latter for herself.
    • Akane crashes her brother Kuroki and Tsutsuji's wedding by wearing a wedding dress to make him stop his marriage with the latter.
    • Hiiragi crashes Karin and Kuroki's wedding by kidnapping the former to realize his fantasy.
    • Hiiragi interrupts Kuroki and Akane's wedding to "save" the latter from marrying the former. As expected, Akane agrees to leave with him and considers him her "true love" while leaving Kuroki alone in the altar.
  • We Used to Be Friends: In this story, Yuri, Akane, Yuzuriha and Azami were best friends since high school, but Akane and Yuzuriha started avoiding Azami and inviting only Yuri to hang out together because they don't like Azami's stinginess and tendency to demand for Yuri's stuff.
  • Wham Shot:
  • Where Did We Go Wrong?: Karin's mom asked this out loud while chopping cabbage after finding out her son, Hiiragi, sent a long embarrassing email in hopes of winning back his ex-wife that he lost after cheating on her.
  • Whole Episode Flashback: Several episodes are told from the point of view of the main character several years after the events of the episode, from the perspective of the main character, but looking back at the events with the added benefit of hindsight.
  • Wife Husbandry: When Karin was two-year-old., Akane and Akamatsu tried to adopt her to groom her for their 15-year-old disabled son. They ended up returning her 6 months later, when Karin suffered a delayed aphasia, due to an accident that killed her parents.
  • Wingdinglish: Akane's lines eventually devolve into this as she chases after Tokusa and his friends.
  • The World Mocks Your Loss: Akane leaves her house in anger after she was scolded by her parents for telling Kuroki that Santa isn't real because her boyfriend of 8 years broke up with her. However, she ends up freezing and being surrounded by lovey-dovey couples. The couples in question are Tachibana and Azami, Akamatsu and Hiiraginote, and Yuzuriha and John.
  • Worst Wedding Ever:
    • If Akane is the bride, it's all but guaranteed the wedding will be a disaster.
    • In this one not only was the Akane a complete bridezilla, but there was a massive typhoon during the wedding that caused most of the guests to not show up.
    • Tachibana cheated on Yuri with her sister, Akane, just before their wedding day. Yuri broke off the engagement, but the wedding was not canceled. This caused Akane to take her place as the bride at the wedding. On the day of the wedding, Tachibana's mother slapped both him and Akane in the face, the wedding guests also started to leave the wedding after realizing the bride was replaced, and even Yuri's name was kept in the story where she and Tachibana first met. The wedding photo of Tachibana and Akane also shows they became nervous wrecks because of the awkwardness of the wedding.
    • Tachibana was questioned by police on the day of his wedding with Karin because he happened to order takeout from a restaurant which became a crime scene after its manager was murdered. Because of the investigation on him, he became a nervous wreck during the wedding procession since it was supposed to be a great day for him.
    • Karin gets kidnapped by her ex-boyfriend, Hiiragi, from her wedding after she refuses to leave her fiancĂ©, Kuroki, at the altar. After kidnapping her, he tries to forcefully kiss her in an old, abandoned chapel. This prompts Kuroki to track Karin's location and rescue her from Hiiragi.
    • Kuroki feels embarrassed and tries to pretend that the wedding was his birthday party after his fiancĂ©e, Akane, leaves him at the altar with Hiiragi, whom she met several days before the wedding. This traumatizes him so much that he refuses to hold another wedding after marrying Karin.
    • In this story, everyone except Yuri and her parents looks so gloomy at Yuzuriha and Hiiragi's wedding, including the bride and groom, because there was a crash in stock prices just before their wedding and they owned a big share of stocks that crashed, causing them to lose almost everything.
    • Tokusa, Kuroki, Akamatsu, and Tachibana are forced to attend their CEO's daughter, Akane's, wedding under the threat of losing their paychecks if they don't attend. They later find out that Akane is actually marrying a body pillow of an up-and-coming actor, Katsura, causing the entire wedding to feel more like a funeral procession for everyone else except for the CEO and his daughter.
    • During Akamatsu and Tsutsuji's wedding, Akamatsu starts hitting on Tsutsuji's sister, Yuzuriha. Later, when Tachibana jokingly asks Tsutsuji if he could have Yuzuriha, Akamatsu states that he wishes that he was marrying Yuzuriha and insults Tsutsuji's appearance, causing Tsutsuji to cry. Hearing this, Kuroki angrily grabs Akamatsu by the collar, telling that he has no right to get married to Tsutsuji and tells to apologize to Tsutsuji. After Akamatsu and Tsutsuji are removed from the room, the staff decide to show the wedding video, which causes an awkward atmosphere in the room. Afterwards, the reception and the marriage ended up being canceled.
    • Akamatsu tried to copy Katsura's wedding to disasterous results. He blamed Katsura for everything going wrong, but Katsura pointed out that he had planned the wedding for a long time, while Akamatsu just rushed through the planning of his wedding.
  • Working Through the Cold: Akane came to work with a fever. Kuroki, the assistant manager tries to send her home, but she insists on working. He relents on the condition that she wear her mask. This earned a complaint from a customer since she was coughing and sneezing frequently. Tsutsuji tries to get her to stop coughing openly but she doesn't listen because she is a part timer. Eventually Kuroki contacts the manager, Akamatsu to take her home.

  • Yakuza: Almost every male character except Kuroki have played this role. Tachibana appears to be most likely character to play a yakuza. Sometimes, he is the leader of a yakuza group.
    • Etra-chan appears to be a Yakuza Princess and also kidnaps Akamatsu, forcing the rest of the cast to rescue him. It turns out to be her own prank to enact a revenge against the cast for pranking her back then, with Akamatsu going along with her plan after his capture and the Yakuza members are actually her chefs who dressed up like the real deal.
    • Yuri sells the mansion that she inherinted from her parents to the Yakuza to prevent it from falling to Akamatsu's hands. When Akamatsu finds out that the mansion was sold and his divorce with Yuri was complete, he throws his phone out of anger and it accidentally hits one of the members, causing him to be beaten up.
    • Hiiragi insults a group of Yakuza members led by Katsura. While Hiiragi was let off for being a part-time worker, thanks to Katsura's intervention; however, they eventually beat Hiiragi up when he tried to cause trouble at his former workplace that fired him.
    • Hiiragi and Akamatsu force Kuroki to meet a local Yakuza gang led by Tokusa so they would stop bullying him for one week. However, this turns out to be mistake because Kuroki explains them why he visited them, causing Tokusa and his right-hand man Tachibana to scold both bullies and teacher Akane for their actions.
  • Yandere: Yuzuriha came out of nowhere and stabbed Tokusa mid-date, causing him to lose control of his legs and his girlfriend Yuri. Her father Hiiragi told him she was stalking a man and mistook Tokusa for him. When he finally recovered, he left Hiiragi's mansion and moved to another city with a new girlfriend. However, said girlfriend turns out to be Yuzuriha.
  • You Are Fat: A drunk Akamatsu asks Karin for her weight. When she tells him she is 120 pounds, he calls her fatty because he believes anyone over 100 pounds is fat. She retorts that she is not fat in any way, but he refuses to listen.
  • Younger Than They Look:
    • Akane ends up looking way older than Kuroki after her divorce with him, despite both of them being the same age.
    • Yuzuriha looks like a grown-up woman, however she is actually 11.
    • When Akane asks Yuzuriha about her appearance, she says that she looks like a woman in her 50s, despite being 43. Tachibana also mistakes her for an old woman, destroying her pride in the process.
  • You're Just Jealous: When Karin tries to warn Azami about her reckless spending habits after she wins the lottery, she just dismisses it as jealousy.
