Drinking Game / Freeman's Mind

Freeman's Mind has so many Running Gags, Brick Jokes, and Callbacks, that any drinking game based around them is sure to cause alcohol poisoning. Here's the playlist; proceed with extreme caution.

Note: Unless otherwise stated, all "dialogue" counts, including stingers, and all footage counts, including episodes 0, 10.5, 27, and 61.5, Freeman Across the Universe, and the alternate ending of 68.

  • Take a shot whenever Gordon displays a surprising amount of consideration for others.
    • Two if he takes it back or subverts it within five seconds.
  • Take a sip every time Gordon laments his lack of a grappling hook.
    • Or his lack of a helmet.
  • Take a sip every time Gordon mentions Eddie.
  • Take a sip whenever Gordon speaks a foreign language.
  • Take a sip whenever Gordon gets hypnotized by something.
    • Two sips if he says "Yes, Master…"
  • Take a sip whenever Gordon gets motion sickness.
  • Take a sip for every Genius Bonus.
  • Take a sip every time Gordon lampshades an unrealistic or mystifying aspect of the game's plot, design, AI, etc. For your own safety, you are advised to take very tiny sips for this one.
  • Take a sip every time Gordon ignores exposition.
    • Take another one when he doesn't understand what's going on purely because of this.
  • Take a sip every time Gordon displays Hypocritical Humor. This includes shouting at people to relax, shouting at himself not to freak out, doing something that he earlier criticized someone else for doing (or vice versa), or saying that something applies or should be applied to everyone except for himself.note 
  • Take a shot every time Gordon accidentally shoots and kills an allied NPC.
    • A sip if he only nearly does so.
    • Two shots if it was on purpose.
  • Take a shot every time the show uses footage from a game other than Half-Life: Source. Use your own judgement on whether to count Freeman Across the Universe, but if you do you are advised to take sips rather than shots.
  • Take a shot every time Gordon mentions wanting to use an ally as bait.
  • Take a shot whenever Gordon mentions a mythical or supernatural creature.
    • Two whenever he seems to be legitimately confused as to whether said creature exists in reality.
  • Take a shot whenever Gordon treats an enemy encounter as some other kind of situation (such as a class of unruly students, or a workplace inspection).
    • Or whenever he makes believe that his shooting his enemies is supposed to be helpful to them in some way.
  • Take a sip every time Gordon engages in Dungeon Bypassing by use of noclip.
  • Take a shot whenever Gordon deliberately bypasses one of the game's weapons.
  • Take a shot whenever Gordon justifies an unrealistic trope by way of an External Retcon.
  • Take a sip every time Gordon mentions that he has no idea what's going on and/or what he's doing.
  • Take a shot whenever Gordon unwittingly foreshadows events of later games in the Half-Life series.
  • Take a sip every time Gordon alludes to a Noodle Incident.
  • Take a sip every time Gordon engages in Percussive Maintenance (don't count metal grates, doors, or windows; you'll die).
    • Two if it works (you can count windows here if you want).
  • Take a small sip every time Freeman makes a Shout-Out that you recognize (don't count when he only refers to a work by name).
  • Take a sip every time Gordon implies he's a drug addict and/or alcoholic. (Exclude the parts where he's high on morphine.)
  • Take a shot whenever Gordon conceives new and unusual ways of delivering pizza.
  • Take a shot for every song that Gordon whistles, hums, or sings.
  • Take a shot every time Gordon tries to reason with his enemies.
  • Take a sip every time he presses a button and it does something that makes him happy. (Note: Triggers and buttons on handheld weapons don't count.)
  • Take a shot every time he does a Brief Accent Imitation (for the sake of your health, episode 27 counts as "one time").
  • Take a shot whenever Gordon attributes someone else's behavior to an ambiguous disorder.
  • Take a shot whenever Gordon addresses "reality" as if it were a person.
  • Take a sip whenever Gordon uses the word "god" literally.
  • Take a sip whenever Gordon is honestly impressed by something.
  • Take a shot whenever Gordon decides against doing something immoral because of Pragmatic Villainy.
  • Take a shot whenever the show has a non-canon ending.
  • Take a sip whenever he uses the word "snot".
  • Take a sip whenever the scene played before the intro changes.
  • Take a sip whenever the Freeman logo during the intro is different from usual.
  • Take a sip whenever you see the G-Man and Gordon doesn't comment on him.
  • Take a sip every time Gordon says "What was I thinking about?"
  • Take a sip every time Gordon kills a cockroach.
    • Take two if it's in an air vent.
  • Take a shot every time Gordon wonders if he's being followed.
  • Take a shot every time Gordon botches a grenade throw.
