The trials, tribulations and escapades of aging, washed-up guitarist Jimmy, and his best friend, the mentally-damaged Angus, a hulking mass of aristocratic muscle. Along with their friend Jack, the overly effeminate and paranoid barber who likes his job just a little too much, and his brother Carter, a disgruntled elderly archaeologist, they fight crime.

- Idiot Ball: Almost every character has a firm grasp on this. Jimmy uses Insane Troll Logic and works as the janitor for Work, Inc. Angus is mentally defective. Jack doesn't realize what he does is wrong until after somebody else notices it. Carter puts Honour Before Reason.
- And on the villians' side, Siloet is surprised when his more outlandish schemes fail spectacularly, and Ay only cares that his plans are confusing, to the point where even he cannot make sense of them.
- Stalker with a Crush: The Bald Man to Jack. After the first season, in which Jack is terrified of the Bald Man, he gives in and they get married.
- Ancient Egypt: Ay and Horemheb were real officials in the 18th Dynasty. Ay became Pharaoh after Tutankhamun's death, and Horemheb shortly after. They get an introductory scene which shows their part in the political history of Egypt in a somewhat inaccurate way, for comedic effect.

- Meaningful Name:
- Jimmy, an aging guitarist, looks like and was named after Jimmy Page.
- Siloet is a Silhouette.
- Carter, an Egyptologist, is named after Egyptologist Howard Carter, who discovered King Tut's tomb.
- Zhilhauseo Himher. Him-Her. Zhilhauseo is a combination of a man and a woman from one of Siloet's various experiments, and the completely made-up name was to keep the character from being thought of as either. That said, Himher considers themself female.
- Mad Scientist: Siloet.
- Only Sane Man: At any time, the role is passed between Carter and Jack, and occasionally Horemheb will point out Ay's ludicrous traps.
- Franz Fredierick the Health-Inspecting OSHA agent.
- Some of the mooks at Work, Inc. are this. Sadly they suffer A Fate Worse Than Death almost immediately upon appearing in the shot.

One-Scene Wonder: A good lot of the characters, either because they are a mook or because of a Painful Transformation at the hands of Siloet.- To date, there are Hyman Jones (Brother of Milkat Jones), Josh Tourborini, Max Schneider (Still alive), and The Grandma, who was just an android-bomb.
- Hermaphrodite: Himher, even though Himher is technically not a proper hermaphrodite and more a fusion of a random man and a random woman created to satisfy Siloet's bisexuality.
