Darth Wiki / Shining Prince Hime

Go To

It all started with a wish...

Shining Prince Hime is a Himegoto Fix Fic written by Worldwidewoomy and currently available nowhere.

The premise here is much different than the original: Hime, in an effort to support his newly-realized little sister Kaguya, takes up crossdressing to provide emotional support. Only now, this starts to lead to Hime questioning his own identity...

Shining Prince Hime has examples of:

  • Adaptational Gender Identity: Several:
    • Hime and Kaguya, both cisgender boys in the source material, are here depicted as heavily questioning (before later coming out as genderfluid) and a trans girl, respectively.
    • No.1, originally a cis girl, is here written as a trans boy.
    • Hiro is written as a demiboy, as opposed to being a Wholesome Crossdresser in the original.
  • Adaptational Sexuality:
    • Mitsunaga is explicitly written as a gay boy who's in love with Hiro, as opposed to being implied in the source material.
    • Sometime after she comes out to the rest of the Public Morals Committee, Kaguya realizes later on that she's a lesbian.
    • Tadokoro is written as bisexual here.
  • Adapted Out: The student council girls (18+, Unko, and Bell) do not appear here. Hime instead ends up joining the Public Morals Committee and receives financial support and protection from Miitsunaga's wealthy family.
  • Adults Are Useless: The Arikawa siblings' parents, oh so much.
  • Affectionate Gesture to the Head: Hiro loves giving these to Mitsunaga, much to his embarrassment.
  • Anguished Declaration of Love: A few days after Hime was sexually assaulted by two classmates, they tearfully admit their confusing feelings towards Tadokoro. He doesn’t reciprocate, unfortunately.
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: Tadokoro and Hime first met as children, when Tadokoro chased off some bullies who were harassing Hime. Hime later admits to developing a very confusing crush on him because of that.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: It doesn't take very little to push Hime and No.1's buttons, but when their buttons are pushed, expect no mercy.
  • Beware the Silly Ones: Kaguya is more of a loose cannon than her brother, but you still don't want to mess with her.
  • Big Brother Instinct:
    • Hime towards his little sister. He really means it when he says that the Arikawas will always have each other's backs.
    • On the other hand, Kaguya displays a Little Sister Instinct towards Hime, as she's also furious when learning of Hime being harassed.
  • Camp Gay: Mitsunaga used to be this when he first came out at a younger age. He’s mellowed out some during the time the fic takes place, but still dabbles into this from time to time.
  • Childhood Friend Romance: One is teased between Hime and Tadokoro, but ultimately averted, as Tadokoro sees Hime as too much of a best friend to see them in a romantic light.
  • Chivalrous Pervert: As much as he likes to crack naughty jokes around Hime, Tadokoro genuinely cares for them as a friend. To wit, he's pissed when he learns that Hime was felt up by two schoolmates while crossdressing, and is only convinced not to go after Hime's attackers after Hime begs him not to.
  • Everyone Can See It: Mitsunaga and Hiro have very obvious feelings for each other.
  • D-Cup Distress: No.1 and Hiro aren’t too happy about their large chests, primarily due to dysphoria centering around it.
  • Deconstruction Fic: Naturally, most of the original manga’s more unsavory elements get taken apart here, especially the manga’s reliance on the Wholesome Crossdresser trope.
  • Gayngst: Hime is understandably broken after Tadokoro rejects their Anguished Declaration of Love, but it doesn’t take long for them to get over it.
  • She Cleans Up Nicely: Hime's personal style is, as described in-universe by Mitsunaga, "grimy". However, they're shown to be quite pretty once effort is put into their appearance, usually when they're crossdressing or otherwise presenting femininely.
  • Trans Relationship Troubles: Kaguya and No.1 were kind of an item prior to both of them coming out, but with Kaguya not only coming out as trans and realizing she likes girls, and with No.1 coming out to her as a trans boy, they both agree to break off the relationship and remain friends.
  • Trauma Button: Being called a trap really pushes this for Hime, given that his attackers chanted about how traps are the best while assaulting them.
  • Wholesome Crossdresser: Though the fic deconstructs this trope, it’s still somewhat prevalent throughout, with everyone now given a narrative reasoning for doing sonote . Though later on when they start questioning their identity, Hime humorously wonders if what he's doing can truly be considered crossdressing.
Hime: If I’m not 100% a boy, is it really crossdressing?
    Mitsunaga, smirking: Maaaybe.
