Dooronpa Otherworld is a Danganronpa fan-roleplay hosted by Discord user door-kun, and is technically the fourth in a series, but takes place in a different universe.

18 Ultimates, from a wide variety of different worlds, all awaken together on a spaceship with no idea as to how they got there. While a good few of them are on edge, everything seems fine if only a bit suspicious... but that all changes when they're called to the cafeteria and a two-toned crow with his assistant announce the circumstances of their situation: To leave and return to their home worlds, they must take a life and get away with it.

The Ultimates!

The following RP contains the following tropes:

  • Eleventh Hour Super Power: Gyro Gearloose unlocks the full abilities of the Life Equation during the final trial, allowing him to reduce the Anti-Life Equation to dust, and destroy Darkseid's Omega Beams, as well as allowing him to successfully hack a Father Box to redirect the survivors to arrive at a new world.
  • Amnesiacs are Innocent: Albedo has no memory of choking out Kaz in self-defense due to being possessed by his destructive side.
  • Anyone Can Die: It's a Danganronpa RP, so it's not unexpected. Crow, Justine, Isabelle, Xingqiu, Kaz, Albedo, Akane, Mikan, Ogrim, Yoruko, Ibuki, King Knight, and Rango all bite the dust during the killing game.
  • Attempted Suicide: Xingqiu in 4-2 was going to kill himself in order to end the motive. Unfortunately, Isabelle interfered, causing him to accidentally stab her. Similarly, Ibuki tries to shoot herself at the end of Chapter 4: the gun slips.
  • Big Guy Fatality Syndrome: As per canon, some of the more muscular participants bite it in Chapter 4. Namely, Ogrim and Akane end up dying in the chapter.
  • Break the Cutie: Chapters 2 through 4 seem to be one long mission to drive Ibuki to the point of no return. She loses her memories in Chapter 2, and throughout chapters 3 and 4, everyone who sees themselves as a close friend of hers ends up either dead or forcibly removed from the game. By the end of Chapter 4, she's been Driven to Suicide - luckily, it fails, but still. She then on top of that finds out that Emma and Yoruko may be behind this killing game, killing Yoruko, one of her closest friends pre-amnesia, and then ends up finding out that they were both innocent in this game and Yoruko had done literally nothing wrong.
  • Broken Pedestal: Cirno has a massive one for King Knight after the reveal of him murdering Mikan in Chapter 4 - she hadn't seen him bludgeon Colette to death, and believed he was a genuine knight and hero...until said reveal, where she's utterly disgusted and loses any and all respect for him, going as far as to try to murder him post-trial out of vengeance.
  • The Cameo:Booster Gold appears in the epilogue, saving Emma from falling to her death after being boom tubed to Metropolis.
  • Complete Monster: It can safely be said that King Knight is the RP's most villainous non-Monocrow character - and for good reason. His unrepentant attitude and selfish demeanor, mixed with generally hating everyone around, get him nowhere good, especially once it's revealed that he's a traitor working for the mastermind, but he truly crosses the Moral Event Horizon in chapter 4, where he murders Mikan and then uses the fact that Akane died first to justify his continued survival over Ogrim. It works, but no one is happy about it- Gyro and Ibuki least of all.
    • The Mastermind of the Killing Space Trip also heavily falls into this. Darkseid is just as monstrous as his canonical appearance. Using the boom tubes to kidnap the 18 Ultimates from various different universes as to not alert the Justice League as to his plans, he put the 18 in a killing game with worlds conquered by him as the settings to through the despair and emotions experienced throughout the game, find the key to the Anti-Life Equation. When Gyro Gearloose unlocks the potential of the Life Equation, Darkseid loses it and attempts to murder the survivors, and when the survivors escape, the final words he says to Gyro are that they will meet again, after he burns down all their worlds to dust.
  • Criminal Amnesiac: During 4-3, the motive involves androids based on the cast's worst enemies- for Akane, that enemy is Junko Enoshima. Who, naturally, learning of Ibuki's amnesia, decides to use that to nearly trick the musician into murdering someone- though the trap fails, it's enough to nearly derail the class trial in a way that could have killed everyone if not for quick thinking.
  • Duel to the Death: The truth of the final case - Rango challenged King Knight to one, and shot him clean through the visor.
  • Death by Adaptation: Akane Owari and Yoruko Kabuya, survivors in their home games, are the fourth and sixth victims of the killing game respectively.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Implied. In Chapter 3's epilogue, Ibuki stumbles upon a note left by Junko after her ejection- despite how awful she's been, it's implied that the former leader of Ultimate Despair, during her time on the Skeld, genuinely considered her a friend.
  • The Hero: Gyro Gearloose ends up fulfulling this role, being the primary leader of the class trials. He's unhappy about it. As well, Emma Magorobi plays the part as well. She is also not happy about it.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: Rango's plan in Chapter 6. He murders King Knight to stop Cirno from being the blackened as well as to end the killing game so that Gyro, Emma, N, Cirno, and Dingodile can leave this suffering even if he cannot.
    • Akane tries this in Chapter 4 by Taking the Bullet for Ogrim..however, Ogrim accidentally crushes her to death during her last moments, making it fail horrendously, and making him her killer by sheer accident.
  • Karma Houdini: Downplayed. After bludgeoning the co-host Colette to death, instead of being executed like the rest of the murder culprits, King Knight is locked in a cell with Specter Knight, whom he absolutely despises. He is released scot-free the at the end of Chapter 3.
    • Deconstructed. Once again, King Knight pulls one of these in Chapter 4 - He murders Mikan in cold blood, but due to Ogrim accidentally murdering Akane, he gets away scot free and isn't executed for it. HOWEVER. No one is happy about this, and he gets stabbed by Cirno and no one besides Gyro is willing to help him as a result, essentially isolating himself.
    • Averted by the end, as King Knight is the final victim of the Killing Space Trip.
  • Laser-Guided Amnesia: Ibuki injures herself during Chapter 2, leaving her with complete amnesia. Naturally, this gets taken advantage of.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: Emma Magorobi survives the Killing Space Trip, despite dying in her canon game as the Chapter 2 Blackened.
    • Downplayed with Mikan Tsumiki and Ibuki Mioda, who still die, but as a Chapter 4 victim and the Chapter 5 killer as opposed to the Chapter 3 killer and Chapter 3 victim respectively in their canon game.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: During 4-2, Gyro delivers one to King Knight after the gold-armored knight voted incorrectly out of spite for the inventor. Gyro renders him completely silent afterwards
Gyro: ... ARE YOU THAT FUCKING STUPID?! OUR LIVES ARE ON THE LINE, AND YOU’LL GLADLY KILL US ALL, INCLUDING YOURSELF JUST BECAUSE I WAS THE ONE WHO CONVICTED HIM?! OUR BLOOD WOULD HAVE BEEN ON YOUR HANDS IF I HADN’T SAID ANYTHING! I KNEW YOU WERE A FOOL, BUT WALT ALMIGHTY!
    King Knight: ...
Gyro: WHAT?! DO YOU HAVE NOTHING TO SAY?! NO BACKHANDED REMARK, NO EGOTISTICAL SIDE COMMENT, NO BRUSHING ME ASIDE?! YOU MAY BE ABSOLUTE IN WHEREVER MUDHOLE YOU RULE AT, BUT HERE, WE ARE ALL IN THE SAME POSITION! WE ARE ALL IN THE SAME SITUATION, SO GET IT THROUGH THAT THICK GOLDEN ARMOR THAT YOU ARE JUST AS FUCKED AS THE REST OF US!
Gyro: You know what? I was just gonna say “Fuck you” and call it a day. I was just gonna make a fucking jab, and be done. But if it’s a “silly little rant” you want? Well… I won’t disappoint you. “Your Majesty.” I mean, of all the fucking pieces of shit I have ever had to deal with... You are BY FAR THE FUCKING PINNACLE! YOU ARE CLOUDED BY DELUSIONS OF GRANDEUR THAT YOU PUSH ONTO EVERYONE ELSE BECAUSE YOU ARE NOTHING BUT A SPOILED BRAT! YOU ARE THE KING OF NOTHING, AND I'M SURE YOUR SUBJECTS ARE GLAD THAT YOU ARE GONE, THEY HAVE LIKELY SET UP A DEMOCRACY IN YOUR PLACE! ALL YOU HAVE DONE IN THIS TRIAL. NO. THIS ENTIRE FUCKING GAME IS HARM! YOU BLUDGEONED COLETTE TO DEATH, YOU WERE THE TRAITOR, YOU KILLED MIKAN WHO HAD THE FUCKING AUTOPSY REPORT. YOU SAY YOU HAVE SOME ROYAL INTELLECT, YOU SAY THAT YOU ARE A GOD AMONG MEN, YOU HYPE YOURSELF UP SO GOD DAMN MUCH AND YOU NEVER LIVE UP TO IT! IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN YOU! IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN YOU WHO DIED! ARE YOU SATISFIED?! ARE YOU?! AN INNOCENT MAN IS GOING TO BE PUT TO DEATH, AND ALL YOU HAVE TO THINK OF IS YOURSELF. YOU. SELFISH. PRICK. I HAVE HAD TO DEAL WITH VILLAINS, EVIL ORGANIZATIONS, AND MY BOSS, AND YOU SOMEHOW TRIUMPH OVER... ALL OF THAT! IT IS A FUCKING MIRACLE NOBODY HAS KILLED YOU YET, OR AT LEAST TRIED TO UNTIL JUST FUCKING NOW! YOU HIDE BEHIND THAT HELMET, YOU SAY THESE REMARKS, AND THERE IS NOTHING BEHIND IT. YOUR ROYALTY IS UNFOUNDED, YOU PIECE OF SHIT! IF YOU WERE A TRUE KING, LET ALONE A TRUE KNIGHT, YOU WOULD HAVE SOME SYMPATHY! YOU WOULD PROTECT! YOU WOULDN'T HAVE KILLED! BUT YOU DID. YOU HAVE NO SYMPATHY. AND YOU ONLY PROTECT YOURSELF! YOU ARE THE KING OF NOTHING. YOU ARE THE KNIGHT OF NOTHING. YOU. ARE. NOTHING!!!
  • Trauma Conga Line: N gets this hard. The first person he meets, Justine, is the first blackened. Then, his closest friend (Xingqiu) uses him in an attempted suicide to make sure no one interfered, he saw said friend murder Isabelle, and then blacked out. Then he tried to defend Xingqiu in the trial, only for his efforts to be for naught. He's handed his tassel, and then tries to get close to Albedo, who ends as the 'next' culprit in self defense. And then Akane dies, and she was someone he respected as well. Then, another one of his friends, Ogrim, ends up as the fourth culprit, and soon after that, Ibuki who he tried to help post Chapter 4 ended up as the fifth culprit. And then Rango, who he also in his own way cared about ended up as the final culprit. There's a reason a nickname of the RP is "N's No Good Very Bad Day."
    • Ibuki also gets hit with a hard one through Chapters 3 and 4, as does Cirno in Chapter 4.
  • Tragic Keepsake: N receives the friendship tassel Xingqiu originally had attached to his Vision right before the latter is executed. Albedo, on the other hand, gets the shorter end of the stick - he holds onto the suicide note Xingqiu left behind before Isabelle managed to intervene.
    • N also gets Rango's sheriff badge after his trial.
