Death Seeker is an original story written by IAmHoussem17 and published on Wattpad.

The story centers on Liam West, a depressed boy Driven to Suicide due to the living conditions of the kingdom where he resides, along with losing his parents. However, once he took a dive off the roof he finds himself facing a strange entity called Mary, who tells he can't die because he has a mission to fulfill first: take down the corrupt king once and for all.

Death Seeker provides examples of the following tropes:

  • 0% Approval Rating: King Arthur is understandably not very popular with his subjects.
  • Affair? Blame the Bastard: Queen Amanda was not pleased with Liam's birth and left him abandoned outside, where Samuel and Tiffani found him.
  • Archnemesis Dad: King Arthur turns out to be Liam's true father, having had him after an affair with his mistress Kate.
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: The reason why Liam starts liking Evelyn. She's the first person to treat him nicely while he was at his lowest.
  • Better to Die than Be Killed: Liam opted to off himself instead of being killed on orders from Arthur.
  • Big Bad: King Arthur is the reason behind everyone's suffering in the story.
  • Creepy Good: Mary creeps out Liam quite a bit with his overly cheerful demeanor, but she genuinely means well and even helps Liam get over his suicidal ideation.
  • A Deadly Affair: Arthur ended up having his mistress killed out of fear that she'll rat him out to the public.
  • Death Seeker: As the title suggests, Liam wanted to die due to depression. However, he couldn't die and was brought back to life. He spends some of the story still desiring death, till he eventually grows out of it.
  • Despair Event Horizon: Reaching this is why Liam attempted suicide at the beginning.
  • Downer Beginning: The story starts by the main character attempting suicide while highlighting everything wrong with the setting.
  • The Dragon: John is Arthur's top enforcer.
  • Driven to Suicide: Liam, although he fails and kickstarts the plot.
  • Good Parents: Samuel and Tiffani, as well as Norman and Rose.
  • Happily Adopted: Samuel and Tiffani took Liam in after he was abandoned by his biological parents.
  • Happily Married: Samuel and Tiffani, as well as Norman and Rose.
  • Hate Sink: King Arthur is utterly despicable and everything he does serves to paint him as such.
  • Heroic Bastard: Liam turns out to be the result of an affair the king had.
  • Starts with a Suicide: We meet Liam as he's preparing to jump off a roof. Subverted in that he was brought back to life shortly after.
  • Strong Family Resemblance: Evelyn resembles her mother when she was younger. This is the first hint that Mary is the reincarnation of Rose.
  • Plot-Triggering Death: Samuel and Tiffani dying is what pushes Liam over the edge, thus attempting suicide and kickstarting the plot.
  • Posthumous Character:
    • Samuel and Tiffani are already dead by the start.
    • Same goes for Evelyn's mother Rose, who died a few years prior.
