"I hate this fucking town."
Simone

Adventures in Aurora is a Dungeons & Dragons based RPG, featuring a wildly eclectic (And at times, outright bizarre) mix of Adventurers. It's all downhill from here folks.

Current Characters (In Order of Appearance):

Former Characters:

Adventures In Aurora provides examples of:

  • Blatant Lies: Mavli claiming to have to open a door three times for luck in the colosseum.
  • Breather Episode: A session is spent around a campfire, followed by a planning meeting.
  • Can't Refuse the Call Anymore: Ossalir has a choice to get involved with the plot, but decides to go his own way. Arkham is unsure at first, but the attack on his temple changes his mind. He badgers Ossalir into accepting it later when the two of them meet finally.
  • The Charmer: Avestan negotiates a higher fee for his services and seems charismatic enough. When sober.
  • Covert Pervert: Nehpets enjoys the view while following Tahariel down the Air-Vent Passageway.
  • Disaster Dominoes: Three Cultists chasing after Ossalir fall on his ball bearings, slamming into a wall one after another.
  • Dude Looks Like a Lady: Zigzagged, the party all see Nehpets as a guy but a few NPCs do not.
  • Eye Scream: Tahariel stabs an orc guard in the eye.
  • Failed a Spot Check: All over the place thanks to die rolls. Notable ones include Simone missing Avestan pickpocketing the orc threatening them, then not hearing him later admit it outright.
  • Friendly Sniper: Simone with her crossbow.
  • Great Escape: Tahariel and Nehpets say no to staying in prison.
  • The Gulag: The prison cells incarcerating Tahariel and Nehpets (Until they escaped). To a lesser extent, the Collosseum holding cells where Mavli is.
  • Informed Ability: Avestan touts himself as an excellent bard. His show at the Inn performed marginally well, although we later hear of a concert which sold out.
  • Lame Pun Reaction: In the grand battle of Unnamed Square, Avestan makes a head pun that causes everyone (Villains included) to sigh in unison.
  • Hulking Out: Mavli becomes a werewolf halfway through a battle and tears off a Goblin's head with her teeth.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Tahariel wears tight trousers and thigh high boots while being competent enough to hold her own.
  • Not What It Looks Like: Ossalir is horrified at the corpses strewn around the White Rose Monastery, and is not reassured by Haverstan's attitude.
  • Odd Name Out: Simone is the only common real world name.
  • Oh, Crap!: A few examples.
    • Simone when Avestan pisses off a whole tavern of orcs.
    • Nehpets and Tahariel when about to be killed by giant rats.
    • Mavli when she gets severely injured in the arena, forcing her to go full Werewolf
    • The Cultists, seeing Arkham take out two guys, while naked, with an axe.
    • Ossalir walking into the aftermath of the cultists' assault on the Monastery of the White Rose.
    • Avestan when Simone points her sword at him.
  • One-Hit Kill:
    • Two Cultists each get cleaved in twain by Arkham when trying to raid his monastery.
    • Tahariel takes out two rats with her halberd.
  • Open Mouth, Insert Foot: Avestan calling an entire tavern of Orcs peasants.
  • Our Orcs Are Different: They run the town of Ad'Var, and while less misanthropic than most depictions, still do not like outsiders.
  • Playing with Fire: Nehpets go-to tactic. Also utilised by Ossilar when escaping cultists by setting a hallway on fire.
  • Refusal of the Call:
    • Ossalir sees what is hinted to be a high-ranking cultist leaving the Thieves Guild with the MacGuffin in hand. He promtply heads in the opposite direction.
    • Avestan attempted to have a quiet life in Ad'var on someā€¦ dubious advice. He's since resigned himself to it.
  • Running Gag: So far at least 90 percent of the people the party encounters have at least seen Avestan somewhere before. Most of the party have as well, to varying degrees of recognition.
    • Simone vaguely remembers seeing him before.
    • Tahariel just remembers someone who annoyed her.
    • Thaila witnessed a grand performance by him.
    • Arkham vaguely recognises him from the same concert as Thaila.
    • Even The Cult Leader recognises him, although we don't see the context.
  • Schizo Tech: The Bartender of the Slaughtered Head has metal shutters that come down over the bar to protect his wares from any bar brawls.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: The remaining Cultist in the square legs it, and manages to live longer than anyone expected.
  • Sewer Level: Featuring giant rats and near death experiences.
  • Shout-Out: Ironspike tells Mavli and Imshar to show him what you got.
  • Suspiciously Specific Denial: Nephets's referring to himself as a "Tall, manly, handsome, smart, manly, powerful, manly man! ... Who is definitely not a trap!"
  • This Is Gonna Suck: The Bartender of the Slaughtered Head hides behind his bar when a massive orc challenges Avestan.
  • Vagueness Is Coming: The Abbot of Arkham's monastery tells him he will travel with a group of adventurers and discover his destiny.
  • Verbal Backpedaling: Avestan attempts to cover for his peasants comment by substituting the word pheasants. Turns out the orc confronting him doesn't like them.
  • Women Are Wiser: So far the sensible party members appear to be the women.
  • We Hardly Knew Ye: The businessmen Ossalir does business with quickly die, as does the Cult leader.
