Westone Bit Entertainment was a video game developer based in Mukoujima, Sumida-ku, Tokyo. Founded in May 1986, it was first known as Escape before they eventually re-named it after the company founders Ryuuichi Nishizawa (西澤龍一) (Nishi = West) and Michishito Ishizuka (石塚路志人) (Ishi = Stone). Westone is best known for being in charge of Wonder Boy series in cooperation with Sega.
The company entered liquidation process and went bankrupt in October 1, 2014.
