Creator / Waris Hussein

Waris Hussein (born 9 December 1938) is an Indian-British director of television and film. Early in his career, aged just 24, he directed the first ever Doctor Who story "An Unearthly Child" (1963), returning a few months later to direct the fourth story "Marco Polo" (1964).

He was portrayed by Sacha Dhawan in An Adventure in Space and Time (2013), a Docudrama about the creation of Doctor Who made to commemorate the show's 50th anniversary.
