Tarsier Studios is a small video game company based in Malmö, Sweden. It is best known for its Little Nightmares series, although the studio has worked with other groups to develop content for a variety of games.
Tarsier Studios was founded in 2004 as Team Tarsier, named after the nocturnal mammal, for the express purpose of developing The City of Metronome, which debuted at E3 2005. Although the team failed to find a publisher willing to take on the game from an untested group of developers, in 2010 Team Tarsier went on to become formalized as Tarsier Studios, expanding from its initial team of less than a dozen to roughly 70 employees as of 2021.
Games developed by Tarsier Studios:
- The City of Metronome (canceled in 2007)
- LittleBigPlanet (developed content for series)
