Spun-off from Studio DEEN in 1977 by animator Shoji Kumabe, Studio Kuma (スタジオ九魔; named after Kumabe, alternately known as Studio Kyuma) is an animation studio specializing in animation subcontracting/co-production. The company declared bankruptcy in late 2017 following the passing of Kumabe. Its animators would split off to form two new companies in early 2018: Giga Production and Team Harada.
