Steven Caple Jr. (born February 16, 1988) is an American film director and screenwriter. His first claim to prominence was for directing the 2018 drama Creed II, assuming directorial duties from Ryan Coogler himself from the first Creed, due to his commitments on Black Panther for Marvel Studios. His next film would later be Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, released in June 2023. Where he served as the first black director to helm a live-action film based on the Transformers franchise in its nearly forty years of history.
