Stephen Gammell (born February 10, 1943) is an American illustrator. Active since 1973, he's known for his distinctive surreal art style, which has been Nightmare Fuel to countless readers for generations. By far his most famous art is that done for the (in)famous Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark books.
Another notable book to have Gammell's art is Terrible Things: An Allegory Of The Holocaust, which was released one year before the first Scary Stories book.
