Stephen Churchett (10 April 1947 — 11 January 2022) was an English actor and writer best known for his roles in EastEnders and The Brittas Empire.
First appearing on-screen in the 1970 sitcom Up Pompeii, Churchett managed to get success in his role as the solicitor Marcus Christie in EastEnders. He played the role on a recurring basis from 1990 to 2000 before reprising it in 2014 and 2015.
Finally, he is also best known for playing the antagonistic Councillor Drugget in The Brittas Empire. Although his appearances were relegated to Once a Season at first starting with Series 4, he became more of a recurring character in the final series of the show.
Outside of his many appearances in TV, Chruchett is also known to have written some screenplays for TV shows, including The Bill and Lewis.
Churchett died on the 11th of January in 2022 at the age of 74.
