Richard Allen Dysart (March 30, 1929 – April 5, 2015) was an American actor best known for playing Leland McKenzie in L.A. Law, and for his roles as Dr. Allenby and Dr. Copper in Being There and The Thing (1982), respectively.
As can be seen from his film credits list, Dysart was often cast as a medical doctor or a scientist.
