Richard Curtis CBE (born 8 November 1956) is an acclaimed British screenwriter, producer and film director. He has written and/or directed several beloved romantic comedies, including: Four Weddings and a Funeral (1994), Notting Hill (1999), the first two Bridget Jones films, Love Actually (2003), About Time (2013) and Yesterday (2019).
Additionally, he has co-created several classic Britcoms like Blackadder, Mr. Bean and The Vicar of Dibley, and has written for such series as Not the Nine O'Clock News, and Spitting Image. He has also dabbled in more dramatic fare, such as War Horse, and the 2011 Doctor Who episode "Vincent and the Doctor".
And as if all that wasn't enough, Curtis co-founded the UK charity Comic Relief with Lenny Henry.
