Rhea Jo Perlman (born March 31, 1948 in Brooklyn, New York) is an American actress. Best known for her Star-Making Role as Carla Tortelli note on Cheers (for which she earned four Emmy Awards), she has also had prominent roles in projects like Canadian Bacon and Matilda, and has done a good deal of voice acting.
Perlman's father, Philip Perlman, followed her into acting and was a semi-regular on Cheers. She is married to, separated from, but by all accounts friendly with fellow actor Danny DeVito, whom she met on the set of Taxi, The couple have three children, including actress Lucy DeVito.
