Pierre Niney (born March 13, 1989 in Boulogne-Billancourt, Hauts-de-Seine) is a French actor, director and screenwriter.
Born from a Sephardic Jewish Egyptian father and a French mother, he's a stage actor since the age of 11. He's been pensionnaire (first degree member) of the prestigious Comédie-Française theatre troupe from 2010 to 2015 (their youngest ever, at age 21).
He made his screen debut in the two-part miniseries La dame d'Izieu in 2007. Since 2014 and his acclaimed performance as fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent in the biopic of the same name that earned him a César Award for Best Actor, he's been hailed as one of the most talented French actors of his generation.
He's done some voice work as well.
