Penélope Cruz Sánchez (born April 28, 1974 in Alcobendas, Spain) is a Spanish actress.
She's best known for such movies as Blow, Vicky Cristina Barcelona, Bandidas, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, and almost every film Pedro Almodóvar has made since 1997. She was nominated for an Academy Award for Volver and Nine, won for Vicky Cristina Barcelona.
She has a nearly identical younger sister who's also an actress (and fashion model), Mónica Cruz. Penelope has been married to actor Javier Bardem since 2010, with whom she has a son and a daughter.
