Creator / Pauline Quirke

Pauline Perpetua Quirke, MBE, (8 July 1959), is a British actress best known for playing Sharon Theodopolopodous in Birds of a Feather.

She began as a child actress in the early '70s, and by 1976 she had her own TV show, Pauline's Quirkes, a show that featured comedy sketches, teenage topics and pop music.

In 1989, she was cast in Birds of a Feather alongside her long-time friend Linda Robson as a pair of mismatched sisters. Quirke appeared in every episode save for the 2020 Christmas Episode "We Gotta Get Out of this Place", as she was busy with her acting academies.

Other memorable roles for Quirke were as Hazel Rhodes, the mother of Jackson Walsh in Emmerdale and as Susan Wright in Broadchurch.

She was appointed the Member of the Order of the British Empire in 2022 for services to young people, the entertainment industry and charity.
