Nicholas Frankau, (16 July 1954), is a British actor best known for playing Carstairs in 'Allo 'Allo!.

His first acting role came in his teens, playing an Uncredited Role in Goodbye, Mr. Chips. He started acting full-time in 1980, with a role in Blake's 7, followed by similarly small roles in For Your Eyes Only, I Remember Nelson, and The Return of the Soldier.

In 1982, Frankau was cast in the 'Allo 'Allo! Pilot as Carstairs, one half of a duo of incompetent British airmen trapped behind enemy lines in Nazi-occupied France. Over the next nine years, Frankau and his fellow airman, John D. Collins, would don all manner of outlandish costumes throughout the series in their attempts to return home to England. The airmen were Put on a Bus off-screen at the beginning of Series 8 but came Back for the Finale just in time to see the liberation of France.

Frankau stopped acting after 1993 (barring a return to the role of Carstairs in the 2007 special, "The Return of 'Allo 'Allo!") and now works as a software engineer.
