Mochi Au Lait (もちオーレ) is a rising star mangaka that started on Pixiv. Active since 2016, Mochi's works have seen a large bloom in popularity since they were noticed and scanlated into English in 2017. While web publishing has been her mainstay since her online debut, physical releases have been appearing more recently as they have made their print debut under Kadokawa's publishing platform.

She primarily creates Yuri Genre manga of many various subgenres, and is well-known for her own style of moe. While her earlier art style was more minimalistic, her style has gotten more detailed over time.

Mochi can be found on her Twitter and Pixiv, as well as her publisher Kadokawa's ComicWalker website. She also has a MyAnimeList.net page.

Fans have compiled a detailed Love Chart that shows all current (beware spoilers) relationships in all Mochi's works. The rendered version can be found here on Google Drive.

Common Tropes and Features In Author's Works
  • Bilingual Bonus: The author's pen name, Mochi Au Lait, is a combination of Japanese and French that means "mochi with milk". Mochi is a Japanese rice cake.
  • Cast Full of Gay: In Mochi's world (see The 'Verse below), nearly every girl expresses, is curious about, or accepts sapphism.
  • Character Overlap: Many of Mochi's characters overlap in different works (see The 'Verse below).
  • Exactly What It Says on the Tin: With a few exceptions, her works fall under this.
  • Hereditary Homosexuality: There are some hints that some of the mothers of some of the girls are sapphic, however it's also even more present given that sisters (who often tend to be incestuous) very commonly all like women.
  • Incest Subtext: Subtext is taken seriously, given Mochi's tendency to upgrade them (see Sibling Incest below).
  • Luminescent Blush: Mochi loves to make her characters blush frequently and very brightly.
  • Moe Couplet: Many of Mochi's couples fit this quite well.
  • Odd Couple: Whether it's sisters, enemy knights, bully-victim reversal, zombies, or what not, Mochi loves an odd couple.
  • Queer Romance: She is a Yuri mangaka after all.
  • Sibling Incest: Mochi has no fear of full-blooded incest in general with her works. Many of them are incestuous, including an entire family of five sisters and even twincest.
  • The 'Verse: Many of Mochi's series and one-shot works have characters, places, and settings that overlap, indicating that they're all in the same fictional universe.
  • Tomboy and Girly Girl: It's a classic Yuri trope and Mochi uses it at times.
  • Yuri Genre: Mochi writes nearly exclusively yuri works.
